Prayers for a deeply disordered and misguided soul.
No, it isn’t true. An Orthodox rabbi, if helping a woman or a couple stressed about an unwanted pregnancy, will counsel them to choose life. Choosing life is the most important thing in Judaism. Even if someone has a terminal disease and is in pain we are ALWAYS to pray for a healing. Which I just couldn’t do any longer at the end for my dad. So I just prayed he would be comfortable and that Gd would always be there for him.
Judaism doesn’t worry about abortion being legal but it is against killing the unborn. Reform Judaism is liberalism with some Jewish flavor, I’m sure they are ok with abortion.
Let me guess: this creature’s “rabbi” has nothing between her legs.
She is a self-absorbed, immoral idiot...and that is being overly generous. Oh, and she is wrong - Judaism views life as holy, but permits abortions in those rare circumstances where there is no alternative. It isn’t permitted to fix forgetting about your birth control so that your life can continue to be convenient.
The Motion Picture Production Code sure could be useful today...she’s a disgusting nasty person.
Sorry, that tired old trope has expired. This woman was in elementary school in the 1980s, not the 1940s. Catholic school teachers at that point were nearly indistinguishable from public school teachers. There *might* have been a modern-dressed Sister as principal or religion teacher.
Traditional Jewish teaching for more than 3,000 years is that abortion is prohibited for both Jew and non-Jew. There is a very small exception to save the life of the mother, as pagan practice was to kill the mother to to save the (male) child.
The original Hebrew of Genesis 9:6 specifically states “adam b’adam” (”mankind in mankind”) in prohibiting the shedding of blood. There has never been doubt that this prohibits killing in the womb.
In America, anyone can make up anything they want and call it by the name of any traditional religion regardless of accuracy.
'Nuff said.
You get to have a weekly Shabbat, she gushed, which is just like a party every Friday.
Yeah. That's because G-d created the world in six days and rested on the seventh. That's something you would not have heard about in the Catholic Church.
May God grant her the grace of repentance and conversion.
During his show May 26, Conan OBrien invited actress and recent Judiaism convert Natasha Leggero onto his show. Leggero praised her new religion for treating abortion as cool enough to have on every Jewish holiday. After all, she reasoned, its good to have a back-up to fall on, just like AAA for cars.
Not a Jew, so I'm not up on all that, but I'm guessing she's adhering to one of the less, uhhh, "rigerous" variants of modern Judaism.
Whatever. She's in show business. She'll drop this and be something else in a half decade or so.
This young woman is a disgrace. She’s either ignorant or very evil. The Jewish community should denounce what she said.
Leggero is a prime example why conversion to Judaism is not encouraged. One is either born a Jew or a Gentile.
Bless her little heart.
Maybe she will read the Torah one day.

Her(and others’)ignorance of the Deep Suffering of Post-Abortion Syndrome and the Media blackout/cover-up/brainwashing/ it entails, are astounding and really something to behold. When Jesus at the end of Mark 7 says that “folly”, sometimes translated as “an obtuse spirit”, defiles, He was talking about having a shallow, stupid attitude towards life.
“A stupid, sinful people.”

Kudos to Conan for offering some resistance to her stupid comments.
