The faithful remnant who remain don’t need to be ridiculed, removed and endlessly criticized by the Bishop of Rome. That’s my point. I understand your point...John Paul could back from the dead and the Church would still be attacked.

If the faithful remnant is “ridiculed, removed and endlessly criticized” BY ANYONE it only adds to the glory of God.
So, yeah, we need it in that sense.
