"That would have put this decision at the discretion of the priest. But this is not the case. The Pope has asked in a clear exercise of synodality and communion with the entire College of Bishops of the Church Pastors of each diocese, to appoint the priests of his diocese a number of general and equal criteria in order to avoid arbitrary judgments. No priest should feel as if he is the owner of the word of God," Father Guerrero.

With this the Spanish Episcopal Conference seems to acknowledge the softening of the indissolubility of marriage. Because with the aforementioned "universal and equal criteria" that should be given to the priests in guiding, implicitly recognizing that there are situations in which the indissoluble marriage is still dissoluble.

"Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves." They elected a Marxist to be Pope.

EWTN just had a show with a very interesting discussion (which included one of their regular priest commentators) which was quite critical of this papal document, and I posted a link to that EWTN show (now on youtube)
in this thread, if you haven't had a chance to see that very surprisingly frank discussion yet.

When I read something from a bishop it’s beginning to sound like a Saturday Night Live skit. I really did burst out laughing when this guy said the Church must now act to avoid “religious rigor.” We have been avoiding religious rigor (quite religiously) for over half a century.
