That’s true. But that said, most of this 220+ page document was simply platitudes and or resayings of what has been said - and more clearly - a million times before. But the Pope thinks that somehow because he says it, it’s new and cool.
However, the real problem with this document is the last few paragraphs, which talk about “inculturation” and basically seem to say that while all of the foregoing may have been well and good, if the “cultural situation” doesn’t favor it, you can do whatever you want; and also, the Jiminy Cricket message, where your “conscience” (you know, the little voice that tells you, “if it feels good, do it”) is supposed to take primacy over the teachings of the Church.
