My daughter Kelly has been in the hospital all week fighting a blood infection. She was moved to ICU today and put on a ventilator because of severe pneumonia. She is not doing very well and I would appreciate the prayers of our prayer warriors here on Free Republic.
P-Marlowe has posted an update and it looks like all of the prayers for Kelly might be working.
Please continue to pray for Kelly and post your replies to P-Marlowe.
Thanks and God Bless.
Father, we unite in prayer, asking Your Healing Hand for Kelly and that you shall return her to her family and loved ones completely healed .. in Jesus’ name, Amen
Lifting your daughter and your family in prayer.

Prayers.
Prayers.
Happy to read you got some good news, Marlowe!
Let’s all keep up the prayers for this young lady and her family. She’s young, she has a good medical team, and, God willing, with our prayers she is going to walk out of that hospital in the not too distant future.
UPDATE ON KELLY:
Today started out a mixed bag. Kelly’s liver and kidney functions are continuing to improve but we had a bit of a setback on the lungs. They had to increase her oxygen a bit and she still has some significant fluids building up. But her general oxygen levels on the ventilator continue to be fairly good; not perfect by any stretch, but nothing critical.
She has been in a semi-coma vegetative state for a week now. They tried in the last few days to remove the propofol and see if she would wake up but she hadn’t .... UNTIL TODAY.
She was still on a little bit of propofol when I noticed that she was moving her head around. The doctor removed the propofol and a little later she started moving her eyes and then her feet and hands. Her boyfriend asked her if she could hear him to squeeze his hand and she did it. So right now she is aware of what is going on, but she is still pretty much out of it and with the ventilator she couldn’t talk if she wanted to.
But the best news of all was that her primary care doctor in ICU (I call him “Dr. Pessimist”) started talking about her future road to recovery - and how (when she gets out) it will not be an easy one.
Just a couple of days ago he was saying she had a 50/50 chance of survival (which I think I rightly interpreted as his way of saying she has about a 90% chance of not getting out alive). He seems to be very impressed with the progress at this point, but he remains the pessimist.
The bible says that “the fervent effectual prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” While none of us are righteous in ourselves, as believers we have been imputed with the righteousness of Christ so that the fervent effectual prayer of any believer will availeth much.
Words cannot express our family’s gratitude for the faithful and fervent prayers of the prayer warriors on this site. I am looking forward to showing her this thread. I have been reading from it to her before she started to come out of her coma. The prayers have been tremendous. A couple of them I couldn’t read aloud without breaking down myself. Thank you all!!
Kelly is not out of the woods yet. Her lungs are the primary problem at this time and also she is having some problems with nourishment. But we are over a couple of big humps and there is light at the end of the tunnel.
I will continue to give you all updates.
Praying.
We’re still with you and the excitement carries over to us!!!!
Amen and praises being sung!!
Re: Dr Pessimist....we had one of those with my dad. Pretty much had written dear Dad off, after multiple organ failure/blood infection (was in coma for weeks, etc)
Dad likes to remind Doc about that, from time to time :-)
Thank you for keeping us informed, so hat we will know how to focus our prayers for Kelly.
It’s looking better, praise God.
Thanks so much for the positive update. Take care of yourselves, too.
Prayers continue.
Fervent prayers on the way. God bless.
Dear Kelly we pray for you to heal
Prayers up!
