I wish that all churches would give up the “plaster saints” model. It is ridiculous!
The correct model is the “living stones on cornerstone” model.
And not perfected until having gone to be with Jesus in glory.
When you let Jesus be Jesus, not half-strangling His life by the neck as it were, suddenly you find fountains of grace that you never expected. That’s why I have been able to present such a bountiful witness to my Indian co-workers. They’re starving for grace — I identify a source of it. Superstition? Well it’s more like the white cat that walked over the ladder, than the black one that walked under it.
So many churches (again not naming names, the Roman system is only one that gets this way) have a Gospel of Gloom. Gloom is the only way they can control you. The devils of hell love the Gospel of Gloom.
After many trials and troubles and sins and wrongs, I have found a Gospel of Joy and Forgiveness. I can’t control anyone that way but I can lead them, with the kindness of the Lord that has been placed within my grasp, to a place where they can see clear to repent (i.e. turn back, from the Edenic folly of mankind) to Him.
And nobody is going to make me shut up about it until I am pushing up daisies.
