The Protestant idea that the early Christian accepted a Bible without the Deuterocanonical books is pure fantasy.

At the time of Jesus death; were those books part of JEWISH scripture?

For most EVERY one knows there was no 'bible' until Rome had it compiled many, many years later.

And after MUCH wrangling about what was or wasn't 'scripture'.

Yes. The Jerusalem canon, as contained in the Septuagint translation, was accepted by Jews at the time of Jesus. It was only after the destruction of the Temple that Jewish authorities rejected it and insisted on the Masoretic text that excluded them.
