It only took 1800 hrs to make this dogma on the IC. Something that was so well known don’t you know!
Bible says you will go to heaven if: You CALL ON THE NAME OF JESUS TO BE SAVED AND BELIEVE THE GOSPEL OF GRACE FOUND IN FIRST CORINTHIANS 15: VERSES 1 - 4.
The pope is dead wrong. The Bible is right. Pope is a fool. He needs to get into his Bible and out of his one world government Agenda 2030 handbook.
Do you need to hold Mary's hand; too; to be saved from drowning in sin? +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++That's a new one to add to the long list of who and what the Catholic Mary is. A seat belt. The question you pose is like asking "Is it necessary to wear a seat belt to avoid death in a serious car wreck?"
On a more important note, Jesus is there for us at any moment because He lives INSIDE of Christians. We do not put Mary between us and God so we have a clear view of Him and instant communication.
And the reason for the Catholic Church's supposedly impossible "defection" (which I'm surprised you didn't mention) is that in reaction against Protestantism's biblicism it latched onto both "higher criticism" (invented by Protestants) and evolutionism, all as a means of discrediting the Bible as trustworthy. "The Bible is the work of stone-age primitives" has become the ultimate justification for Catholic/Orthodox oral tradition.
I also reject sola scriptura, but the Jewish Tradition has never had to resort to defaming its Bible as full of myths and errors in order to justify its own authoritative interpretive oral tradition. That Catholics and Orthodox chrstians have to do precisely that to defend theirs shows that their traditions have no validity and are not from Heaven.
Be sure not to wear your seatbelt: You would be better off not to wear your seatbelt then to ignore mother Mary’s help in time of need, because spiritual disaster is worse than physical.
Who is it that said (FROM THE CROSS!), “John, behold your mother.”?
Yet you and your fellow adherents to the protestant deformation will have none of such talk? It is you who is putting man (yourself) between us and God, who TOLD us to behold her.
You have just broken the guidelines for posting on the Religion Forum.
First, mindreading-a form of making it personal.
Then a horrible personal attack.
There are the kind of things that Catholics posters have been accusing non-Catholics here of posting, but could never prove it.
This is what got two or three dedicated Christians banned from Free Republic.
All because of false accusations, that, ironically, Catholics here have been guilty of. Projection, big time.
Congratulations Catholicism, you have gotten Christians martyred off of FR.
I will not report the violations, I like to leave them up so all can see the hypocrisy in black and white.
Take the following scriptures to heart...they may bring you forgiveness. Which BTW you can take directly to Jesus at His throne of Grace 24/7.
Exodus 20:16 King James Version (KJV)Perhaps that will be enough to help you, there are many more. Just ask
16 Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.Do not speak evil against one another, brothers. The one who speaks against a brother or judges his brother, speaks evil against the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge.-James 4:11
To speak evil of no one, to avoid quarreling, to be gentle, and to show perfect courtesy toward all people. -Titus 3:2
The good person out of the good treasure of his heart produces good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure produces evil, for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks. -Luke 6:45
With his mouth the godless man would destroy his neighbor, but by knowledge the righteous are delivered. -Proverbs 11:9
God Bless you, may he touch and regenerate your heart.
Here are some scriptures I imagine you are familiar with.
And he said, "What comes out of a person is what defiles him. For from within, out of the heart of man, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, coveting, wickedness, deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride, foolishness. All these evil things come from within, and they defile a person."-Mark 7:20-23You consistently exhibit the quality in Prov 15:1"With his mouth the godless man would destroy his neighbor, but by knowledge the righteous are delivered. -Proverbs 11:9
Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him. -James 1:12
A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.
You do realize Catholics view creation as allegorical?
I'm certainly not going to tell you, look it up.
(Notice to whom it was said?)
Yet you and your fellow adherents to the protestant deformation will have none of such talk?
Well you have me broadbrushed wrong, Protestantism isn't something I am involved with.
Of course Christians are aware of that scripture, Jesus was telling Mary and John that John would look after her.
Do you read something different into that scripture?
You would be better off not to wear your seatbelt...
So I was right, one of the Catholic Mary's titles is Seat Belt?
Because, to finish your statement, "then to ignore mother Maryâs help in time of need, because spiritual disaster is worse than physical."
Spiritual disaster can come from putting Mary between a believer and Jesus.
You call her mother Mary, do you think you are her Son?
It IS???
LOL, I guess that settles it! Because Rome says so, which is of course a perfectly arrogant way of putting things.
Rome starts from the flawed premise that not everything needed to be saved was included in the canon of Scripture...
You know as well as I do: they are they ones who do NOT suck down every drop of Roman koolaid.
There’s an airbag for those who just REFUSE to wear the belt.
Yes...Jesus entrusted Mary's care to John.
Even on the cross Jesus is thinking of others.
That's what this passage is all about.
Nothing more....nothing less.
I was thinking of doing a parody picture of Mary as a seat belt and “talking” to people in a car.
“Put your seatbelts on!”
Maybe at Majorca or Fatima
Perhaps she will be in a Plymouth fury, the car God used to drive Adam and Eve out of the garden.
Or maybe that great big Honda Accord that fit 120 people in it.
She could have those kids from Fatima in it and a bunch of Church fathers.
Yet you and your fellow adherents to the protestant deformation will have none of such talk? It is you who is putting man (yourself) between us and God, who TOLD us to behold her.
US = John??
Jesus also told someone to sell everything he had and give it to the poor.
Are you going suggest that applies to EVERYONE else; too?
Ouch.
And you are exactly right.
Behold = look at.
So what? Look at someone.
That’s nice.
It still does not mean that Mary can save anyone or plays any role whatsoever in saving someone. Mary cannot lead people to Christ. That’s the job of the Holy Spirit.
Catholics would have her usurp the Holy Spirit and render Him unnecessary.
