The Pope is the figurehead they elected.
It can do so, but it will not do so.
Letting fly with charges of heresy would be a quick way to destroy whatever respect and esteem the church has with secular world.
As a Protestant, I have to wonder what exactly does a conservative Catholic do these days?
FWIW, I’m Episcopal, so I have a pretty good idea....
They deposed Benedict, because he wasn’t Heretical.
But it is the Pope who determines who is elevated to the college of cardinals. And ever since John XXIII and VC II, that black snowball, rolling down the hill, has been getting bigger.
Well, Benedict does seem to be doing very well for someone who resigned for reasons of health.
Move to France, elect a new one?
At this point, it is not worth the fight. Let the RCC, which has strayed greatly from God’s word, go down in homosexual flames. Those who love God and the truth, come out of the abomination. Right now, Francis is a moderate!! There are much worse folks behind him...

I think Pope Francis believes otherwise.
I agree with you, the Church should not care, but it does, count on that.
For good or ill (and separate from the spiritual realm), the Church is a secular entity seeking power.

Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President.
Thereafter, when the President transmits to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives has written declaration that no inability exists, he shall resume the powers and duties of his office unless the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive department or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit within four days to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office. Thereupon Congress shall decide the issue, assembling within forty-eight hours for that purpose if not in session. If the Congress, within twenty-one days after receipt of the latter written declaration, or, if Congress is not in session, within twenty-one days after Congress is required to assemble, determines by two-thirds vote of both Houses that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall continue to discharge the same as Acting President; otherwise, the President shall resume the powers and duties of his office.

John of St. Thomas OP, Suarez SJ, Cajetan OP and Cardinal Robert Bellarmine SJ are holy men who understood the Bible, Aristotelian syllogistic and the physics of Copernicus. Fortunate is the teenager who has parents and teachers introduce to their works.
Pope Francis is suspicious of heresy and twisting the faith rather than apostasy and rejecting the faith. Francis twists the faith to fit the myth of global warming, weak ecumenism and selfish personal power. He ignores physics, logic and the dogmatic boundaries of his power. I pity the empty guy. Vocations are probably down.
Solution: get Cardinal Raymond Burke and his team back into the Vatican.

Bravo. That move to Avignon caused St. Vincent Ferrer to lose a lot of sleep and triggered the feminine aggression in St. Catherine of Siena. Thanks to her, the pope returned to Rome. Phew. What a headache.
This Catholic now goes to a Traditional Roman Catholic Church. Latin Mass. No Vatican II mumbo-jummbo. They are not in good favor with the Vatican. They must be doing something right. ;)

The pope has supreme power. He needs to be told that he needs to resign.
This particular Pope is indeed a Black Pope. It will be interesting to see how Catholicism deals with it as a religious sect.

Opposing the church leadership and calling for it to return to its roots.
