No one likes it. BTW, you seemed to have missed the verse about casting stones.
“And I am good. I don’t do a lot of things that are bad. I try to do nothing that is bad.”
That. That right there tells me a lot.
Ek a scuse a me?
How about this is being ‘you and your God’ and leave it at that...
Since when are we ‘priests’ and have to hear confession???
Business Insider, the mouthpiece of Cheap Labor, that has promoted destroying America’s manufacturing base, and flooding America with slave Mexican labor, ruining millions of lives, is now oh so Christian. Yeah right.
Yeah, that might work!
I don’t know if Donald did anything in his life that he needs to ask forgiveness for.
I know that I did, and I asked for Jesus to forgive me. And I didn’t do it through a priest either, but rather in prayer and more than once.
I hope that He forgives me, because if He does not, I’ll be going down rather than up.
These are the things that are between us and our Maker.
Many Protestants believe that they are saved by Jesus’ death once and for all and as long as they are trying that is all God asks of them.
Leave people’s realtionship with God their private business unless they want to offer it. Nothing more sacred than that.
In the linked article, I see direct quotes, but not he “does not regret never asking God for forgiveness”. Unless they left that out, and why would they leave out a gem like that, someone addded that in.
At least we wouldn’t be electing a sinner as president.
“God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”(James 4:6,1Peter 5)
George Washington owned slaves:many presidents have worshiped on Sunday only to get caught in scandals the following Monday; JFK, a good Catholic womanizer; lyndon Johnson abused his dogs; Bill Clinton had the morals of a dog in heat.... no one is a perfect Christian. Donald Trump says he is a Christian and goes to church. That’s good enough for me.
Two Corinthians told Trump that he was good to go.
Here is a man that outright states that he will not humble himself before God, but his adherents think he’ll be a great steward of the Constitution.
Is this satire?
We need a strong leader willing to stand up for American business and drop bombs on the bad guys.
I don’t like to ask for forgiveness either. from God or any one else. That is human nature. Doesn’t mean I don’t do it
Who cares, at least he’s not being a hypocrite about it. We’re not looking to elect a pope.
I’m too young to remember when Carter was elected, but I understand that he “preached” while campaigning and was very holier-than-thou. How did that work out?
I plan on voting for Cruz but I don’t care about Trump’s faith, or lack of it. It’s not for us to judge.
BTW, Business Insider leans left.
If Trump puts his faith in Jesus, he knows the punishment for any wrong has already been taken for him by his death on the cross. Forgiveness is by faith and a relationship with God. Obviously, Trump has a relationship with God.
Billions of people have not asked God for forgiveness...
Not the perfect answer, but you know it is an honest answer. Trump may not realize it, but his goodness comes from the Holy Spirit’s presence within him, moving him to do good. What he needs to do is give thanks to God for this guidance.
