Are you sure that the Gospels were originally written in Greek? The Jewish custom was for rabbis to sit while teaching and for their words to be be written down by their disciples. Would not, then, the words of Our Lord have first been preserved in Hebrew or Aramaic?

I think it is Latin. Which I imagine is why the Catholic bible is written in that language.
