Wow, you slept through Catechism class AND sex education....Catholics teach that consummation of a marriage is necessary in order to make the marriage VALID...You will also notice that Catholic families are on average larger than protestant families who believe that artificial birth control and abortion are acceptable. sheesh.
Who cares what Catholicism taught. Mary was betrothed to Joseph and in Israel, that was considered a legal valid marriage. Joseph had in mind to divorce her quietly BEFORE the marriage was consummated, to that blows your argument out of the water.
You will also notice that Catholic families are on average larger than protestant families who believe that artificial birth control and abortion are acceptable. sheesh.
OK, so for non-Catholic families who don't believe contraception and abortion are acceptable, how does the comparison fall out.
BTW, if birth control is wrong, then *natural* birth control is just as much a sin as *artificial* birth control, no matter how the church wants to approve of it and relabel it.
Thanks, you just proved that Mary and Joseph's marriage was valid.
Joseph pretty much knocked the stuffing out of that fantastical Perpetual Virgin thingie.
