Are you really unable to see the conflation error in the assertion/question? ... catholiciism uses mother in two different ways but conflates the two in order to promote The Mother of Jesus beyond her human nature, giving her titles made up by the magicsteeringthem and not found anywhere in scripture. A woman can have adopted a fireman as a son without having gestated his body, so that if one parses her to be the biological mother they are in error. But then, ambiguity is the tool of catholic empowerment for the institution.
It appears that SOME do...
Bonaventure: â¦the gates of heaven will open to all who confide in the protection of Mary. Blessed are they who know thee, O Mother of God, for the knowledge of THEE is the high road to everlasting life, and the publication of thy virtues is the way of ETERNAL SALVATION . Give ear, O ye nations; and all you who desire heaven , serve, honor Mary, and certainly you will find ETERNAL LIFE.
Ephem: â¦devotion to the divine Motherâ¦is the unlocking of the heavenly Jerusalem.
Blosius: To the, O Lady, are committed the KEYS and the treasures of the kingdom of Heaven.
Ambrose: â¦constantly pray âOpen to us, O Mary, the gates of paradise, since thou hast its KEYS.
Fulgetius: â¦by Mary God descended from Heaven into the world, that by HER man might ascend from earth to Heaven.
Athanasius: â¦And, thou, O Lady, wast filled with grace, that thou mightiest be the way of our SALVATION and the means of ascent to the heavenly Kingdom.
Richard of Laurence: Mary, in fine, is the mistress of heaven; for there she commands as she wills, and ADMITS whom she wills.
Guerric: â¦he who serves Mary and for whom she intercedes, is as CERTAIN of heaven as if he were already thereâ¦and those who DO NOT serve Mary will NOT BE SAVED.
Anselm: It suffices, O Lady, that thou willest it, and our SALVATION is certain.
Antoninus: â¦souls protected by Mary, and on which she casts her eyes, are NECESSARILY JUSTIFIED AND SAVED.
Right after you explain to me how a woman can have a son who has ALWAYS existed.
I shudda read ahead instead of eating dinner.
Gerrymandering, gesticulation and geometry...
Oh?
When did THIS fact become known?
More Catholic stuff that can't be shown?
If you say so.
Naw, depends on what was for dinner! My new housekeeper fixed from-scratch soft tacos. Lots of seasoned chicken and cilantro with sweet onion, lettuce, black beans and seasoned rice, and cheeses. Taquitas on the side. Big glass of iced tea ... mmm gud.
Well, I'm sure the Holy Spirit will be happy to know that He has your approval that His breathed out, inspired Scripture meets with your approval as *good enough*.
It's really too bad that He couldn't have done as good a job as the mere mortals who changed what He did.
But to say that Mary is not the mother of God is refuted by Scripture.
It's not proved by Scripture in the first place. She's given the title *mother of Jesus* by the HOLY SPIRIT, GOD HIMSELF.
WHY is that not good enough for Catholics? Why do they feel the need to amend it?
To clear up supposed problems about who Jesus is?
The identifying phrase *mother of Jesus* was never meant to tell us about who Jesus was, but rather to tell us about who MARY was. It's about identifying which of the several Mary's mentioned in Scripture was the one who bore Jesus.
The claim that changing the title is about clearing up inaccuracies about Jesus just falls flat because when the title was changed to *mother of God* the name of Jesus was removed from the equation. It CAN'T clear up issues about the nature of Jesus when HE isn't even mentioned by name.
When Mary was found to be with child, and the angel of the Lord told Joseph that it was through the Holy Spirit that this child was conceived in her, the child that was conceived in Mary was GOD. When the magi saw the child with Mary His mother, the child to whom they paid homage was GOD. When Joseph took the child and His mother to Egypt that the words of the prophet, "Out of Egypt I called my son," might be fulfilled, that child was GOD. When Joseph took the child and His mother to Nazareth, so that the words of the prophet, "He shall be called a Nazorean," might be fulfilled, that child was GOD. When Gabriel told Mary that she would conceive and bear a son, who she shall name Jesus, that son was GOD. When Elisabeth asked Mary, Why should the mother of my Lord visit me?", that Lord was GOD. When Mary gave birth to Jesus, and the angel of the Lord told the shepherds that today a savior is born, and the shepherds went and found Mary and Joseph, and the infant in the manger, that infant who was born of Mary on that day was GOD. When Simeon took Jesus in his arms, and said to Mary His mother, "Behold, this child is destined for the fall and rise of many in Israel," that child was GOD. When Mary and Joseph found Jesus in the temple, and His mother said to Him, "Son, why have you done this to us," and Jesus answered, "Why were you looking for me? Did you not know that I must be in my Fatherâs house?", it was GOD who was answering His mother.
Scripture references to back up your claims, please.
Just WHERE did any of those situations say that specifically using the word GOD?
The angel told Joseph in a dream that "Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary as your wife, for that which is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins." All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had spoken by the prophet: "Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel" (which means, God with us).", not GOD period, as you state.
The angels announced "For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.", not GOD as you claim.
Elisabeth did not use the word *GOD*, she said *LORD*, a different word in the Greek, again you are wrong.
Simeon said "Lord, now you are letting your servant depart in peace, according to your word; for my eyes have seen your salvation that you have prepared in the presence of all peoples, a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and for glory to your people Israel." And his father and his mother marveled at what was said about him. And Simeon blessed them and said to Mary his mother, "Behold, this child is appointed for the fall and rising of many in Israel, and for a sign that is opposed (and a sword will pierce through your own soul also), so that thoughts from many hearts may be revealed." - and again, nowhere did Simeon use the word *GOD* in his prophesying.
Scripture never tells us that GOD answered Mary, but rather JESUS did.
Your claims that it was specifically stated that it was GOD are not supported in the least by Scripture, not in the clarity you claim they have.
oh good grief, we don't know where Adam and Eve are either, who cares???
Wrong.
But then again it does “appears” some Protestants worship the Bible like muslims worship the Koran.
Sounds quite MORMON-like.
Spirit babies...

John 8:44
You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires.
How do you know??, what if they are leading you astray (they are)....how can you be absolutely certain???/they are going against 2,016 years of deeply studied and verified history....they are 75 or so years old....and you are willing to take that chance....GOOD LUCK....and that's all it is.
I now have new word to use: #2
OMG!
From WHERE was this scratch produced?
Oh, it is important, to sincere Christians. Ever seen the term Christophanies? When God walked with Adam in the garden in the cool of the evening Was God in a physical body? When God spoke with Moses on the Mount and placed His hand over eyes so only the hindward part was seen by Moses, not the eyes of God’s Righteousness shining forth, was God in a physical body? When The Sonm of Man appeared in the fiery furnace with those three Hebrew boys, was He in a physical body? ... And now the biggie: When The Word was with God and was God in the Beginning, was The Word in a physical body? [Hint: ‘The Word was made flesh and dwelt among us.’]
