One thing I have personally observed is that if a faith placed directly in Jesus Christ for salvation is actually there (and it takes only a moment to enter into it... it does not need men’s doctrines to keep it cemented), it will endure any amount of other sins, because those have now been rendered passing. Indeed, if we look at the more devout Catholics, we will see a concentration towards such direct faith taking place. Hardly anyone of any denomination disputes the Christianity of someone like Mother Teresa, it becoming very obvious at that level.
I have learned to be very respectful towards what Jesus Christ keeps together in spite of its errors and sins, because I might be looking at my own church congregation through those eyes some day.
Heck; I look at mine EVERY day!
At least we (Wesleyan) are not arrogant enough to say that OUR way is the ONLY way!
