I can count to 10, say yes, no, and thank you in French; yet somehow I recognize the Our Father and the Hail Mary :)

You should not be surprised at all.

Almost 30% of the words in English come almost directly from French. This is more than any other language.

I learned more about English while studying French than I did in English. It also made it a snap to pick up computer languages once I understood the basic elements of grammar and syntax inherent to all languages.

With you in Jesus' hands, you need fear naught. Please keep us apprised of your medical condition.

If you ever have any questions about French I will try to answer them. I started learning culinary French from my mother. Unfortunately I am so out of practice speak it I would likely embarrass myself. SweetiePalm speaks fluent Hungarian. I had to learn some to speak to the cats.
