I need some Prayers for my brother who despite what meager efforts my wife and I have been able to muster for him has been unable to pick himself up and get back on his own two feet. He has been struggling with esophageal cancer and lost his position in the Navy then his apartment. We had moved his belongings into a public storage while he transitioned to another apartment that never materialized. He has not been able to make any payments and soon the contents will go up for auction and his birthday is Friday.
Prayers done.
Thank Bill for His Service please.
Veteran Prayer Ping

My prayers too.

Prayers . .
Praying.
Prayers of praise for the multitude of blessings showered upon America and believers daily. Thank Thee Father for thy grace, loving kindness, tender mercies and the LORD Jesus’s teaching and commandments of faith before God the Father.. Lead us in the path we are to walk. We PRAISE Thee. Amen. Amen.
Prayers lifted up for your brother, you and your wife.
Is Bill a Veteran? If so you can help him get assistant. Let me know I can help get numbers. I’m sure their are more experienced Vets than me who can provide more precise contact information.
Here’s the link for the VA homeless veteran hotline. As one FReeper noted a companion call to a local Congressmen should also be made:

If your brother is not registered with a VA hospital he will most likely need his DD form 214. If he gets VA pushback then recommend getting a VA advocacy group involved.
The two best IMO are the American Legion and VFW.
If you are Catholic, then the Knights of Columbus help getting veterans pointed in the right direction. At least that is what my dad used to do before he passed away. Back then most KoC were war Vets from WWII, Korea and Vietnam.
Hope this helps. I understand how difficult it can be for an independent family member or friend to reach out and ask for help. Sometimes we have to lead them to help. Your brother needs to be reaffirmed getting help from the VA and veteran’s groups is not a “hand out.” He served and our nation owes him our gratitude.
Prayers for Bill and family.
I am so sorry. God bless you and your beautiful family.
St. Jude, on this your feast day, please help out Bill. Mary, please ask your Son for a complete healing. St. Dymphna, could you please help out too? Thank you.
Do you know anybody that has any space for his storage?
An outbuilding, anything?
Prayers for you, your brother Bill and all of our homeless, especially our veterans, are on the way.
Watch, O Lord,
Amen.
Saint Augustines Prayer for the Sick
Thanks everyone for your kind advice and prayers.
I just spoke with Bill and he said his storage locker went up for auction this morning but he is in an efficiency apartment now. He has been getting follow-up treatments at the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center downtown Chicago and getting help through them. He seems to be in relatively good spirits and expects to see his Doctor (What am I saying? They never get their own Doctors it’s the luck of draw every time)tomorrow.
Thanks again for your continued prayers and advise it is an immense comfort to have so many FRiends.
Praying now.
May God supply the help Bill needs and be with you and your wife too.
