BRINGING EX-CATHOLICS BACK TO THE CATHOLIC CHURCH A PERSONAL STORY
CATHOLIC CLASSICS UNLIMITED BRINGING EX-CATHOLICS BACK TO THE CATHOLIC CHURCH ^

Posted on 10/20/2015 12:34:51 AM PDT by OrthodoxIndianCatholic

Introduction :

It is my objective and endeavour to bring Ex-Catholics back to the Catholic Church in 2015 as well as in 2016. I intend to achieve this through "Catholic Classics".

What I mean is this -- I want Catholics who have left the Catholic Church to read awesome and amazing "Catholic Books" posted on my Catholic Blog.

Many Catholics in India specially in "Metro Cities" have left the Catholic Church and have joined "Non - Denominational Churches".

Most of them are unaware of "Catholic Classics" which encompass and explain the beautiful Catholic Faith.

In Cities like Mumbai in Maharashtra, Panjim and Margao in Goa, Bangalore in Karnataka, and Chennai in Tamil Nadu Catholics have left the Church for a variety of reasons; mostly for monetary reasons but some have also left because of animosity with Priests, or Nuns, or Bishops.

Let me tell you my personal story with regard to "Catholic Classics" and how they changed my life forever.

In Mid- 2012, 3 years back, I was quite angry with Catholic Priests because of negative experiences I had with them while growing up in Mumbai.

In the latter half of 2012, while surfing the "Net" for Catholic Websites I came across a beautiful, outstanding, and extra-ordinary Catholic Website called "E-Catholic 2000"-- "Catholics for the Third Millenium".

Once, I entered this amazing website I happened to stumble across four Catholic Classics--

1) Calvary and the Mass.

2) True Devotion to Mary.

3) Secret of the Rosary.

4) Secret of Mary.

After reading these 4 Catholic Classics over a number of months - I lost all animosity I may have had against Catholic Priests in Mumbai or anywhere else.

I promise you that when you read these 4 books, you will be changed forever and will fall in love with the Catholic - Christian Faith instantly as I did.

These are 4 Books, that positively changes lives and souls.

Read them and you will never be sorry that you visited my "Catholic Blog" accidentally or purposely.

These "Catholic Classics" proudly promote Jesus Christ as the "Centre of our Faith".

The Catholic Church is more than 2000 years old. Let us never forget that.

These Catholic Classics present to us the vibrant Catholic Faith as it has been through the centuries.

Conclusion :

No one will ever regret reading "Catholic Books" @ my blog. These Catholic Books help to build one up in the faith and help to strengthen one about the truths of the Catholic Faith.

I strongly recommend 4 Catholic Classics to Catholics who have left the Church and who might visit my Catholic Blog in the future.

1) Calvary and the Mass

2) True Devotion to Mary

3) Secret of the Rosary

4) Secret of Mary

Happy and Holy Reading.

If we lose the assurance of salvation, then no one can ever know for sure of their eternal destiny...Heaven or Hell.

If the words of Jesus in the verse I posted from John are not valid, then He is a liar. And that is not the case.

It sounds like it would then become incumbent upon us to "do something" for our salvation and that would fly against the Word.

You're saying we can lose it and get it back....even though Ephesians 1:13-14 tells us we are sealed up by the Holy Spirit.

Interesting.

If we lose it then how do you understand Hebrews 6:4-6?

I'd sure like to hear some explaining on how this is possible....as I'm sure the whole thread would.

It can't be explained, because it is impossible. When I was in a works based religion, I thought I could be holy without God's life in me. Can't be done. I have said it before, sooner could a fish live in a tree, than one could be holy without God's life in them. That is the only explanation there is.

I like that one. You gotta be careful. Me and Elsie are prolific limerick writers. We just might be tempted to conjure a couple limericks up. 😀

You must not remember that I’ve written a limerick for Elsie. Here’s a couple for you. I think I know which you will prefer.

There once was a FReeper named Mark
Whose situation has become quite stark
Roman Catholic he used to be
No longer is he, you see,
And now he is living in the dark.

There once was a FReeper named Mark
Whose situation is no longer stark
Roman Catholic he used to be
No longer is he, you see,
And now he is not in the dark.

Which means about 10 times as many types fixed, as it was done with arthritic fingers. Praise be to God. I do not know how you got the numbers though.

“Are you saying, based on cc 424 that it is Christ, and not Peter, upon whom the church is built?”

Can you read? Then read CCC 424. It’s pretty obvious what it says. Now look at the other paragraphs I listed. What do they say?

Now was that hard?

“Nope, I’m asking you for what it tells you.”

And I’m telling you it speaks for itself. So, what you want to do is THINK. Compare 424 with the other paragraphs I mentioned. Then ask the obvious question. Do you know what that is? If you can get that far and get the question right, I might help you.

“Share your wisdom with the rest of us.”

When you show that you have the wisdom to learn, I will. Can you?

This is also clear....

I'm sure you've seen it in the past.

Security of the believer

John 5:24 Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.

John 6:37-39 All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never cast out. For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will but the will of him who sent me. And this is the will of him who sent me, that I should lose nothing of all that he has given me, but raise it up on the last day.

John 10:25-30 Jesus answered them, “I told you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in my Father's name bear witness about me, but you do not believe because you are not among my sheep. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand. I and the Father are one.”

1 Corinthians 1:4-8 I give thanks to my God always for you because of the grace of God that was given you in Christ Jesus, that in every way you were enriched in him in all speech and all knowledge—even as the testimony about Christ was confirmed among you—so that you are not lacking in any gift, as you wait for the revealing of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will sustain you to the end, guiltless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

2 Corinthians 1:21-22 And it is God who establishes us with you in Christ, and has anointed us, and who has also put his seal on us and given us his Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.

2 Corinthians 5:4-8 For while we are still in this tent, we groan, being burdened—not that we would be unclothed, but that we would be further clothed, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life. He who has prepared us for this very thing is God, who has given us the Spirit as a guarantee.

So we are always of good courage. We know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord, for we walk by faith, not by sight. Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord.

Ephesians 1:13-14 In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory.

Ephesians 4:30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

Colossians 1:13-14 He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

Colossians 2:13-14 And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross.

Colossians 3:3 For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.

1 Peter 1:3-5 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God's power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

Hebrews 6:17-20 So when God desired to show more convincingly to the heirs of the promise the unchangeable character of his purpose, he guaranteed it with an oath, so that by two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to hold fast to the hope set before us. We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain, where Jesus has gone as a forerunner on our behalf, having become a high priest forever after the order of Melchizedek.

2 Corinthians 1:21-22 Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God; Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.

For which the Greek, from the Byzantine, is:

2Corinthians 1:21-22 ο δε βεβαιων ημας συν υμιν εις χριστον και χρισας ημας θεος ο και σφραγισαμενος ημας και δους τον αρραβωνα του πνευματος εν ταις καρδιαις ημων

The first word in bold above is “bebaion,” the idea of confirmation, frequently used in commercial settings to confirm a bargain. Which of course makes sense of the remaining terms used here, which are also elements of a secured contract.

The second word in bold above is “sphragisamenos,” being sealed is to be marked by the signature, signet ring, or other unique proof of identity, that we belong to God, and this sealing is done by God, who is the one taking action in this verse. We do not and cannot seal ourselves. We do not, by our own powers, have access to God’s “signet ring.”

The third bolded word above is “arrabona,” and indicates what we might loosely refer to as earnest money, but in Hebrew culture conveys more the idea of a pledge of covenant, a security given as a guarantee that the deal will go through, though we only receive part payment at the beginning. See ערב for the related Hebrew stem indicating “pledge.”

In John 6:37 the Greek is emphatic He will not cast out those who come to Him. It is negated in the strongest possible way in the Greek.

It is also in the present indicative....used to state fact.

Jesus is saying it is a fact He will not cast out those who come to Him.

Can it be any clearer????

No, but if someone doesn’t want to believe it, they won’t even if Jesus Himself were to say it.

Oh..... wait a minute......

Oh, so now he’s a “relative stranger”? Keep changing your story.

No, stranger can mean complete stranger or relative stranger, and that was already clarified as one who does not frequent the RF, to which you contended that he frequent the RF, contrary to the evidence. So the problem is your apparent lack of knowledge, or evidence, and thus having to dispute about semantics after you already disputed the clarification. Par for the course.

Your belief in OSAS relies on one word “continues” in the faith. You can’t be plucked out of the Father’s hand by any outside power, but you can surrender your salvation

If OSAS is true no matter what then Matthew 13 “sower of seed” is a lie. It describes exactly how people gain their salvation and lose it.
