The Fancher wagon train was organized in Harrison Arkansas. Fancher actually also owned land in Benton County about a mile from where I live.

Two other wagon trains were also attacked with loss of life. The Miltmore train and the Shephard train.

The Mountain Meadows area was considered, by the Mormons, to be haunted for many years after.

Someone is going to have to explain to me why the Fancher people even wished to leave that area of Arkansas. There is plenty of land and water and the area has a moderate climate. Not to mention that the hills and valleys are absolutely breathtaking. I am considering selling out from NE MS and moving to Marion County.
