My birthday is Yom Kippur this year.

It’s odd having a birthday near (or on) an important religious day. It’s not even like sharing it with Christmas. At least then you can kind of think of the whole world celebrating with you.

Doesn’t seem like there’s much of a celebratory mood with Yom Kippur. Then again I’m not Jewish so I don’t know.

Take a look at the graphic which explains the significance. :)

IMO, Yom Kippur is a direct dialog with HaShem. The subject is atonement. I can’t think of anything more spiritual, and I always feel ready with a clear mind, body, and soul at the conclusion of Yom Kippur.

Hit post too soon... so after the fast, I stuff my face with food at a good restaurant with friends and family. :)
