Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem
Character Studies From The Bible
Jonah
29 As the crowds increased, Jesus said, This is a wicked generation. It asks for a sign, but none will be given it except the sign of Jonah. 30 For as Jonah was a sign to the Ninevites, so also will the Son of Man be to this generation. 31 The Queen of the South will rise at the judgment with the people of this generation and condemn them, for she came from the ends of the earth to listen to Solomons wisdom; and now something greater than Solomon is here. 32 The men of Nineveh will stand up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it, for they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and now something greater than Jonah is here.
(Luke 11)

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem
In this short passage from the Gospel of Luke, Jonah is once again mentioned by Jesus in His preaching. He refers to both the People of Nineveh and The Queen of Sheba, all of whom were pagans and had no knowledge of the One True God, except from what they heard from afar. The Pharisees, however, were brilliant scholars, had access to all the Scriptures and Commentaries that were available at the time, and followed the Law to the Letter.
In our own century, we have some profound scholars of the deepest of religious writings. Their scholarship is renowned, and they have large followings both in person and in the media. Their erudite expositions of both the historic and symbolic meanings of the Scriptures are very profound, and would fill many volumes.
Yet, in many of these people's lives, there is a missing factor. The lack of Love and Compassion in some is almost palpable. Sometimes, a scandal bubbles to the surface, a secret sin, or just a general meanness that reaches a breaking point, and the whole edifice comes crashing down.
St. Paul wrote, in his Letter to the Corinthian Church:
If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

As we enter the final hours of the last days, I ask for the spirit of faith, the workings of miracles, for signs, wonders, gifts and demonstrations of the Holy Spirit and power to be in strong operation. Let believers in Israel and in every land be unified to stand strong by faith in Jesus, the Anointed One and His Anointing, that Your glory may be revealed in all the earth.
