I meant Noah and you know full well I meant Noah. So here’s the correction.
Noah got drunker than hell.
He did? When? Chapter and verse?
And if he did, would that justify it?
It’s OK for all those Catholics to do it because if Moses[sic] could do it and still get to heaven, they can too.
See, they’re not so bad after all. Even the priest drinks and smokes, so it’s OK for the laity to do it too.
I recognize the thinking. I saw enough of it growing up.
You are inferring above that it’s wrong for people to drink alcoholic beverages. I showed you the many references in scripture and you’re now trying to backtrack. It don’t work that way. You’re wrong.
I did not and I am not.
What you were addressing was getting *drunker than h*ll*, not merely drinking.
THAT is what I was responding to, and yes, the Catholics I watched at all those parties had exactly that attitude about being that drunk, especially when the priest was right there with them.
You mind reading US to try to prove that we were mind reading YOU!
And then getting HUFFY because we called YOU on YOUR mistake.
Don't you have a novena to write, read or pray about?
You knew I knew.
But if I did that, I'd be accused of *mind reading* which is forbidden by the RF Guidelines.
So I'm damned if I do and damned if I don't.
I didn’t read metmom’s objection as being against alcohol, but against the proposition that some biblical figure got “drunk as h3ll” (your words, I believe), so therefore its somehow OK for believers. That’s objectionable. If that’s not what you meant, you need to clarify that, because that is certainly what it sounded like to me.
Peace,
SR
I understand metmom to be writing against getting drunk. The very few catholic weddings I’ve attended saw most of the wedding party getting drunk. I’ve also seen this at non-cathokic weddings also to be fair.
