I do not believe they changed the Bible, but reverted back to the Jewish Canon of Scripture - eliminating the books with historical inaccuracies and false doctrines. As such, the selection predates the Church.
You will believe whatever your denomination instructs you to believe, I imagine. And that is your call.
Catholicism is not a denomination, it is Christianity...denominations were invented so the various protesters could differentiate themselves from one another....
If the Bible is a set of instructions on how to live our lives, then maybe we should read and reread those instructions to learn how to assemble it correctly.
If we followed those instructions and we still did not get the results, then maybe we should look for errors in the instructions. The best solution is not for us to rewrite those instructions as we see fit, but to turn to the author and ask their originator directly for instruction in prayer and meditation.
