This thread is the single best argument against Sola Scriptura I have ever read. Pre, Mid, Post, Tribulation. Early judgment, mid judgment, late judgment. White throne is the same as the general, but not the particular, but maybe it is the same as the particular, but not he general.

Rapture appears in the Bible, unless you have this translation, but it really means something else. The ones taken up are the saved ones, but Noah and Lot were saved.

Time for the popcorn.

Romans 14:1Accept the one whose faith is weak, without quarreling over disputable matters.

Not a shred of the debate affects the salvation of the person. It is no argument at all against sola Scriptura. The most is shows is the level of spiritual maturity, not a case against the authority of Scripture.

When every single last Catholic on the planet agrees lockstep with each other and what the Catholic church teaches, if they can figure out what that even is, then get back to us about not agreeing with each other.

Where does YOUR chosen church stand on each of these issues?

I’m not participating in the discussion in this thread, but I’ve read all of it. While you scoff, I will be praising the Lord for what I see here.

What I see in this thread are people who, despite their traditions, flaws, and human frailties, are trying to make sense of tough passages. What I see here are FReepers following the Biblical model. In Acts 17 the Bereans were called “more noble” than those in Thessalonica because they searched the Scriptures to prove for themselves what they were being taught by the Apostle Paul and Silas.

Since all Bible-believing truly regenerated Christians are part of a chosen generation and a royal priesthood, there is no need to sit back and wait for the priest class to tell us what we are to believe. We aren’t proverbial stepford-wives parroting our favorite saint or pre-Vatican II pope. We don’t just give links to the arguments of our authorities. We wrestle with these things for ourselves. We care too much to blindly accept any doctrine on the word of men. We want to prove them from the Bible.

By the way, it’s laughable to pretend believe papists have ever been in full agreement.

What you call out there is really sola no scripture!

Scripture is quite plain on when the First Resurrection takes place, as you know, having posted Matthew 24 yourself a few times.

It is the fear of experiencing what Yeshua promised we would experience (persecution, torture, death) that causes otherwise sensible believers to invent escape clauses.

Au contraire grasshopper...You think you are going to find some truth relating to the topic outside of the scriptures??? You'd have better luck trying to squeeze one of your popes thru the eye of a needle...

The mystery of the Rapture is found in scripture and only in scripture...Pull up a chair and learn something...

Popcorn. I can see the angels doing facepalms. Or better yet, the swords are drawn over this spiritual warfare. I like the simple way because time should be spent doing. Those who attack every post they disagree with have way too much invested in their own ideas. Like democrats.
