It is really upsetting that top Democrats across the country are refusing to denounce Planned Parenthoods abortion business, especially after the recent video showing their top doctor, Deborah Nutatola, discussing their negotiations with a business called Stem Express that purchases aborted babies body parts for experimentation.
However, whats even more upsetting and quite frankly unimaginable is Christians standing with Planned Parenthood.
In an article posted on July 20th, writer Dan Wilkinson says he still supports the abortion giant even though he is a Christian . In summary, his reasoning is that there is nothing wrong with donating fetal tissue for medical research and Planned Parenthood shouldnt have to apologize for the tone of Dr. Nutalola because most medical professionals talk in matter-of fact terms.
SIGN THE PETITION! Congress Must De-Fund Planned Parenthood Immediately
Additionally, he argues that Planned Parenthood helps women all over the country and God never condemned abortion in the Bible directly.
Here are a few paragraphs from his article:
Lets be honest, Planned Parenthood isnt the abortion mill that the far right would have us believe it is. The services they provide are far broader and far more important. They provide crucial medical care to an often desperately underserved population, and devote far more resources toward preventing pregnancies than to terminating them. As a comprehensive provider of reproductive and sexual healthcare especially to female, minority, and underprivileged populations we need more of Planned Parenthood, not less.
I realize that in most Christian circles anything less than complete opposition to abortion is anathema. But given the theological, philosophical and scientific ambiguities surrounding the issue, I find such absolutism untenable. I dont want anyone to ever be in the position where theyre considering abortion, but I also dont want to deny them that option. Im not God and, despite what many Christians claim, God doesnt seem to have said anything thats directly relevant to this topic.
Wilkinson needs to review Planned Parenthoods most recent annual report, which reveals that they performed 327,654 abortions in 2013 and abortion accounted for 94% of their services to pregnant women. In fact, while they were making big bucks on abortion there other services like contraception and cancer screenings dropped significantly.
Secondly, Wilkinson should read up on Planned Parenthoods founder to get a good picture of what their organization really believes about minority populations and the poor. In Margaret Sangers book, Pivot of Civilization she describes African-Americans, and immigrants as human weeds, reckless breeders, and spawning human beings who never should have been born.
Then in Woman and the New Race Sanger argues that because the conditions of large families tend to involve poverty and illness, it is better for everyone involved if a childs life is snuffed out before he or she has a chance to pose difficulties to its family. She writes, [We should] apply a stern and rigid policy of sterilization and segregation to that grade of population whose progeny is tainted, or whose inheritance is such that objectionable traits may be transmitted to offspring.

Finally, Wilkinson should review Gods view on human life, which is outlined consistently in both the Old and New Testament (Matthew 18:10, Jeremiah 1:5, Exodus 21:22-23, Psalm 139:13-15). Although Wilkinson is correct to say that God doesnt mention abortion directly, He clearly opposes killing innocent children and reveals to the world that he formed unborn life. In Genesis, for example, we learn that God made mankind in his image, and in Psalms and Jeremiah that God knits together and knows unborn life.
Of course, there are countless scriptures in the Bible that affirm the sanctity of life and clearly Wilson is ignoring them to conclude that Gods okay with Planned Parenthoods business. Thankfully, however, most Christians would agree that Dr. Nucatolas admissions were horrific and that Planned Parenthood shouldnt be selling fetal body parts for research.
found an article by him here:
Looks like he has a problem with “The Tone”
Disgusting individual:
“Perhaps the biggest fallout from the video, however, comes from the tone with which the medical procedures are described, something for which Planned Parenthood has already apologized.
I dont think theres a need to apologize. Conversations between medical professionals are often seemingly callous and matter-of-fact. Anyone whos spent time around those in the medical field doctors, PAs, nurses, EMTs has likely heard gruesome stories recounted in a completely offhanded manner. Whats unsettling to us is commonplace for those who deal with it regularly.
When a doctor describes an abortion, it is gross and unsettling. But does that necessarily make the act itself morally wrong? When it comes to medical procedures including abortion I dont think the mere fact that it strikes us as being gory and gruesome is sufficient to characterize any and all abortion as morally objectionable. If that were the case, wed have good reason to question the morality of most invasive medical procedures.”
Agreed.
Here’s the summary of the beliefs of Pathos:
What We Believe
Generally speaking (because do any two people anywhere believe the exact same things?) we here at UC hold that:
Jesus Christ was divine. In the course of his dutiful incarnation on earth he therefore easily (what with being divine and all) performed what to him alone werent miracles at all. As a means of providing for the irrevocable reconciliation of humankind to God (and so of course for each person to him or herself) he allowed for his bodily execution on the cross; by way of (yet again) proving that he was divine he then rose from the dead; for the benefit of all people he left behind the totality of him/her self in the form of the indwelling Holy Spirit, which is readily and easily available to everyone.
The Bible is not a contract stipulating the rules for being a Christian. It is an ancient, massive, infinitely complex tome comprising songs, visions, histories, dreams, parables, commandments, and more. Christians seeking to follow the Word of God must look to all the words of God, ever seeking within those words the spirit of Jesus Christ. This means never failing to choose love, compassion and charity over adherence to any Biblical law that in practice or spirit violates Christs Great Commandment to love our neighbors as we love ourselves.
Christianity is supposed to be all about nothing more (and nothing less!) than living a life of love, compassion, fairness, peace, and humility.
The Biblical scholarship supporting the idea that Paul never wrote a word condemning natural homosexuality is more credible and persuasive than is the scholarship claiming that he did. Moreover, we remain mystified as to how any follower of Jesus could choose damning an entire population over obeying Jesus Great Commandment to love God and ones neighbor as oneself.
God does not want any woman automatically submitting to her husband or to anyone else.
Using masculine pronouns to refer to God is strictly a matter of convention, a profoundly unfortunate necessity of the English language, which to date offers no satisfactory alternative. But God is neither male nor female. God is always, at once, both and unimaginably more.
The belief that throughout history God chose to introduce himself in different ways into different culture streams is more reasonable, respectful, and compassionate than is the conviction that there is only one correct way to understand and worship God.
There is no support in the Bible for the morally repugnant idea that hell is an actual place to which God sentences people to spend eternity in mortal agony.
Gods will and intention is to forgive and teach us, not to judge and punish us.
Anyone desiring to mix Church and State has failed to understand the nature and proper role of either.
God can handle converting people. Our job is to love people.
An all-powerful God and the theory of evolution are not incompatible.
Getting a divorce is painful, and if at all possible should certainly be avoided. But in and of itself divorce is not immoral.
The single most telling indicator of a persons moral character has nothing to do with how they define or worship God, and everything to do with how they treat others.
Unfortunately, the beliefs expressed on his website, while a bit more extreme, are very consistent with what has come to be known as the "emerging" or "emergent" church movement. This is a movement that seeks to make church more "relevant" to the present culture (which is not necessarily a bad thing), but actually often ends up accommodating and compromising with the culture (a very bad thing). These churches tend to avoid dealing with difficult issues, such as abortion, homosexuality, etc. Their typical cliche they use to dodge tough issues is to say "We want to be known for what we're for rather than what we're against." That sounds good to the unthinking, but the reality is that as Christians we should be know for both. How does someone come to repentance (something else they avoid discussing - "might offend someone") and therefore realize they need salvation if the church just keeps implying that they're fine regardless of how they are living their lives?
Many of our churches have fallen for this faulty line of reasoning. It's seductive because it promises an easy path on which pastors never need to worry about being called nasty names or being labeled as "intolerant." But in the end, it's just a lie. No competent reading of the Bible can lead to a conclusion that Christians should avoid difficult issues and compromise with evil, just so that people engaged in sin won't be offended. It's just that we are surrounded these days by too many intellectually lazy Christians who mistakenly think that Jesus's directive to love everyone somehow requires us to tolerate whatever sin and evil they choose to engage in. That is completely wrong.
“Bottom line is he is a shmuck. “
I had that figured out from the get go.
I think that's what I said above, but with a lot more words. You get extra credit for brevity.
The “emerging” or “emergent” church movement is what Paul warned us about:
2 Timothy 4:3
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths.
I saw the title of this and figured that much out. I had just never heard of this Dan Whatshisname. He must not be very popular.
I knew that you did, I was just adding my take on him.
Sounds like a wolf among the sheep.
Also I’ve never heard of him.
Dan Fetal Tissue!
Emergent Church is death! This little baby killing homo is doing us a favor by showing us their true colors.
I hate to say this about another brother (possibly), but he looks like one of those feminists:

“Dan Fetal Tissue!”
Now all we need is a pic of him holding a beer can???
There we go!
“Hey Dan, I’m hungry. I could go for some baby-back ribs!”
Dan: “Sounds good! There’s a planned parenthood two blocks away.”
My thought too! Who is this Dan Wilkenson?
God is not ambiguous in the slightest
Where to start Probably with one of those triple face palm pics....
