Remember that some, and usually the logically challenged, think that being told "I think you're wrong" is bashing. That holds for Catholics, Protestants, mooselimes, gay-rights nuts, lieberals, well - just about any group..
That's probably because they have no idea how to explain why they think their view really IS right (if it is) or are willing to listen to opposing views (operative word there is 'listen')..
Of course, if I were to state an opinion that you are wrong I'd best be able to explain why I believe that in a decent and orderly fashion - something that I find missing in way too many threads on the subject. For this reason I find it is usually a gigantic waste of my time to engage on the FR religion forum (although there have been some exceptions.. ;-) More often than not it degenerates into the 'pig to sing' scenario.. (You know, don't bother trying to teach a pig to sing - it wastes your time and annoys the pig.)
As we both know there are those who seem to have had a close personal experience with a rabid possum (as evidenced by their addled thought processes) on both sides of this fence. But having said that, it sure seems that the rabid anti-Catholic bunch is more prevalent here than the rabid anti-Protestant bunch..
Also interesting to note that some who have replied to this thread are members of one or the other group... (while stating falsely that they never post on the religion forum.. ;-)
Yes...lol. Your observations are astute.
Have you been talking with your very smart wife?
