That's not the purpose of FR and not the purpose of our Religion forum. Trashing religion is not debate.
Those who cannot live with this are welcome to post elsewhere.
FOTFLOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! [back at you]
Verga was talking about your “liberal” friend [and so was I], not you, and she is taking a “time out.” Check and see!
Is that you Caitlyn?
IMHO a lot of the knee jerk Pope bashing is simply Catholic bashing with a political bent. I suggest that unless someone has read the actually full quote or sermon or encyclical on the Vatican website, that he or she refrain. The secular press loves this dissension. So does the devil.
I posted regularly here for 14 years before anyone here knew which Church I attend! No one loved this place more than I did. Unfortunately religious bigots have been allowed to over the place and most of the people that made it what it once was either got the ZOT or just left on their on. It will never again be what it once was because of that single thing!
I have read your posts, You use the Catholic Church as your special whipping boy. Don’t let the facts stop you.
You can go on Catholic threads and debate there. Or you can post a thread that's positive about Protestantism and people can debate on that thread.
But posting threads like "Why Catholics Worship Mary" on a daily basis is inflammatory, serves little purpose, and is less than charitable.
Perhaps this was too often, but it was incited by incessant RC postings. And so it must be asked if this restriction will applies to Protestant bashing which has been allowed for years here, and finally was countered by a poster on a regular basis, or do only those who whine the most get their way?
Sincerely, as I have seen this for years.
In just the past 3 years when RCs were posting open threads as:
Book Review: The Protestant’s Dilemma: A Review (Part One, Two, and Three): The Papacy
There Is No Salvation Outside The Catholic Church (Extra Ecclesiam Nulla Salus)
Divinum Officium: Whoever does not embrace the Catholic Christian religion will be damned
Why Catholicism Is Preferable to Protestantism
The Protestant’s Dilemma: A Review
Protecting Gods Word From Bible Christians
Why do Protestant lay people hate clergy?
Protestants: It’s time to come back
From Fundamentalist Baptist to Catholic
EWTN - The Journey Home - November 10, 2014 - Dale Ahlquist, convert from being a Baptist
The Trouble With Calvin Pt. 1
Why would anyone become Catholic?
In Defense of the Immaculate Conception: Part 2
The Nature of the Mass and the need for Sacrifice
The Hail Mary of a Protestant
500 Years of Chaos: Protestantisms Anniversary
And which is just a few, plus multitudes of pro RC polemics for herself that invite and incite debate.
It is certain RCs who favor a RC monarchy for American, under which FR would simply be an servant for her, while evangelical Christians, many of which are former RCs, make up the most conservatives.
FR is the best conservative forum (thank you), and it is alarming to see it yielding to Cath promoters who want to censor anything that impugns their church.
You can tell the anti-Catholics by the words they use. You quoted some there. Add Papists to it. Also add RCC
There are many Catholic Churches, not just the Latin rite.
Thanks. Now I will send in a donation again.
I am pretty sure she was referring to your liberal friend, you know the one that keeps posting the anti-Catholic threads on an almost daily basis.
**Jim is asking that daily threads be stopped**
I don’t think that is what Jim said.
He referenced a certain type of thread.
You do a great job supporting homeschoolers!
And I, personally, on the RF consider you in the category of vigorous disagree-ers, not bashers...and certainly not in the classification of spammers (those who seem to have pre-formatted, multicolor posts that they post repeatedly whenever those posts may fit...no matter how tangentially that fit may be).
Thank you! Bashing our fellow Christians is inexcusable.
It sure is. I never thought free speech for Protestants would be a no-no here.
**Why is a conversion story an attack?**
Because it’s a ‘back door’ means of saying ‘we’re right and you’re wrong’. Which in itself is not necessarily wrong, but it’s the manner and attitude that can make a big difference. There are exceptions of course:
I remember my grandfather (a lukewarm Methodist) having a sign in his living room that said: “Diplomacy is the ability to tell someone to go to hell in such a nice way that they actually look forward to the trip”.
While I don’t approve of judging the souls of others, or declaring what ‘Christian’ group is a cult, if I have to debate elsewhere, that’s not a problem. I’ve simply tried to stay respectful and to the point, as I assume the apostles did in Acts 15. Maybe apologetics are now taboo across the board here.
If one truly has the fruit of the Spirit, that one should be as thick skinned as is possible to have on the planet.
“Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not, but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously”. 1Peter 2:23
Right. Well, do unto others... Turn the other cheek.
Ask your popes which historically damned all of us .
Now back to stomping on those dang dirty protties!
More stories about how protties are bad bad bad bad
The “religion forum” has become debate-free I guess
