In this case it was used by a Christian conservative. Liberals may overuse certain words but they don’t own them. Bash is a perfectly good word. And there’s been an awful lot of it going on lately.
“The daily sport of posting Catholic bashing threads on FR stops today.”
Looks pretty clear to me.
True that.
Since you seem to need it explained to you: take a close look at the insulting graphic. What the thread started with is not relevant, unless you believe in neener, neener, neener.
You do know I am Catholic right? Yes Catholics can be guilty of bashing the religion of others. We are not perfect. We are taught not to but we get angry, we get defensive. It happens.
this protestant thanks you.
I almost quit FR two years ago over the continued onslaughts of the anti-Mormon wolf pack. It was awful.
By the way, I'm Missouri Synod Lutheran. I respect all civilized religions, as should we all.
As an aside, when I went shoulder-by-shoulder pavement-pounding in Illinois with that famous conservative, Phyllis Schlafly of Eagle Forum, in the "Stop ERA" battle years ago, the most active, family-oriented volunteers in the successful country-wide effort were the doorbell-ringing Mormon men and women who were at our sides for a whole year.

Thanks, many people do not realize this or just how Marxist Sinn Fein was.
THIS is an example:
“So.... Are Catholics OK then with a priest serving them communion after he had been molesting boys the night before?”
Amen, Jim... thank you!!
Blessings to you. You called that thread correctly. Father Barron is a learned man and would never dream of having his material used against anyone at all.
:-)
.
My apologies. That was meant to be in general and not specifically. I worded that poorly. It sure does come across as being personal. That was wrong and I ask your pardon.
“Thank God I was rescued from the whore of babylon”.
AKA My ex wife.
LOL!
Ping to all Methodist former chaplains who may or may not have had a part in this coming down today.
Posts or threads? There is a difference.
Are you starting topics with the purpose of inciting disrespectful conversation, or are you making posts on other newsmaker threads expressing a religious perspective?
The former is unbecoming of this forum. The latter is acceptable, if done with citations to back up statements if the opinions are not readily obvious.
Jim is asking that daily threads be stopped, not religious opinions on other news threads.

It’s a question that never got answered.
And I have spoken out against ANYONE of ANY denomination who has been engaged in that kind of behavior.
You can check my posting history on that one.
Thank You
