Our Pastor addressed the tax-exempt issue this last Sunday during his sermon on homosexuality and sin. As far as he’s concerned, the Word of God comes long before worrying about tax-exempt status.

Good for your Pastor. After reading his encyclical that reads like it was written by Occupy Wall Street, I have far less faith that Pope Francis will do likewise.

I think if a church truly wants to be free from the State they should surrender their tax-exempt status and pay taxes.
As for Osteen ... think what he would have to pay in property taxes on his operation if he surrendered?
