“So are you saved ???”

I am redeemed (1 Tim. 2:6, 4:10, 1 John 2:2), and if I remain true to Christ I will enter heaven.

“Are you sure of your salvation??”

I have an assurance of salvation, but not a presumption of salvation as Protestants falsely do. I am sure that Christ redeemed me. I am also sure that I am human and must not reject Christ through sin if I want to enter Heaven. Thus, as Jesus himself tells us, “He who endures to the end will be saved” (Matt. 24:13; 25:31–46). Salvation is not a feeling. It is a fact - a fact that comes to full flower when we leave this life in union with God. “See then the kindness and the severity of God: severity toward those who have fallen, but God’s kindness to you, provided you continue in his kindness; otherwise you too will be cut off” (Rom. 11:22; see also Heb. 10:26–29, 2 Pet. 2:20–21). Thus, just as it says in Philippians 2:12, “Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.”
