So you dont believe in progressive sanctification?
I believe in two distinct works, neither progressive in nature, but instantaneous by God's free grace, just as John Wesley did.
1. The New Birth, where we are forgiven, justified, and regenerated and given the power over sin. This does not remove the nature of sin, but gives a choice where we did not have one before. (Read Romans Chapter 7 and then Romans Chapter 8).
2. Sanctification - where we are given a pure heart.

Hearts don’t change overnight. Don’t ever say that God is so weak that He cannot Save someone.

Will you just read the article?Oh but I did, and I found it wanting from an apologetics point of view. Inasmuch as the author makes a good case for being pro-life, he stumbles when he tries to answer the question "can they be a Christian?" Here is as far as he is willing to go:
To claim to be a Christian and yet chose to support murder over life is hard for me to understand. The commandment, Thou shall not kill is still valid isnt it?

“To claim to be a Christian and yet chose to support murder over life is hard for me to understand. “
I’ve wondered that myself sometimes! You have no idea, really you don’t.
You are there with me when I’m out meeting people from other churches and I ask “are you a pro life church” and I get answers like “yes but (there’s always a ‘but’) our preacher does not preach on political issues”. I give them blank stares sometimes because “To claim to be a Christian and yet chose to support murder over life is hard for me to understand. “ A “political” issue? Now we both know that is a “Biblical” issue but will you please tell me why I get Christian people telling me their pastor does not preach on “political” issues?
I can’t work with churches like that. I can’t reach them. I need help in the pro life cause and they are so misguided. Do you have any idea how hard this is? Maybe your church is pro life and that is wonderful but not all out there are!

You can’t be Catholic and be pro-choice (for abortion.)

The Gospel is not like a buffet. You don't pick and choose what you want and leave the rest. It's like an entrée, you get what you see without substitutions.

There are millions who claim to be Catholic or Christian and yet support abortion.
Isn’t that called cognitive dissonance?

"Matthew 7: 21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven." I believe in this strongly. (It does sound like a "works" thing though.)

Hearts dont change overnight. Dont ever say that God is so weak that He cannot Save someone.
They do if the Almighty God actually causes you to be Born Again where old things pass away and all things become new!
And no one is stating that God is so weak that He cannot save someone, only that it is not a gradual process, but an instantaneous change of heart, that only an All-Powerful, All-Loving God can do in the heart of sinful, evil men.

That’s like asking if someone can be a Christian and still steal the occasional pen from work or tell the occasional lie - it may irk some to know that once God has forgiven our sins and keeps His promise to “recognize our sins no more”, even pro-choicers can be in a state of Salvation.
