Can Someone Be Christian and Pro Choice?

Can someone be pro-choice and still consider themselves Christian? What does the Bible say in regard to being pro-life? The Author of Life

When Peter and John were witnessing to the Jews in what is called Solomon’s portico, Peter said “But you denied the Holy and Righteous One, and asked for a murderer to be granted to you, and you killed the Author of life, whom God raised from the dead. To this we are witnesses” (Acts 3:14-15). Here Peter was saying that they chose a murderer over the “Author of life” and that of course was Jesus. The crowd was so compelled to take the Son of God’s life that they released a murderer and murdered by majority vote, Jesus Christ. They preferred a murderer over He Who gives life. What a travesty, right? Now, think about this. There are many Christians who prefer to be pro-choice, which is really pro-abortion, over being pro-life and taking the life of an innocent, unborn child. When does life begin? Is it at conception? Is it at the first trimester? What does the Bible say about this and when is a baby, embryo or fetus considered a human being? When Life Begins

Here are some Bible verses that clearly indicate that God considers someone to be alive and be a person, and in some cases even have a name and purpose, even before they’re actually born. These verses will prove that even before a child is conceived, they are, in the mind of God, a human being.

Psalm 139:13 “For You formed my inward parts; You wove me in my mother’s womb.”

I’m pro-choice. I support the right of people to choose to keep their pants on.

Yes. Salvation has no bearing on whether you are ignorant. You are Saved by Grace, not intelligence.

But you are wrong. Dead wrong.

No !

Thou shalt not kill is not a suggestion...

Rape, incest is not an exception either...

Life of the mother would probably be the only qualifier for an abortion, but with today's medical advancement that is almost unheard of...

Ask Donald Trump.

“I’m totally pro-choice.” ~Donald Trump

“I believe in God. I am Christian. I think The Bible is certainly, it is THE book. It is the thing," ~Donald Trump

Yes. Salvation has no bearing on whether you are ignorant. You are Saved by Grace, not intelligence.

If you are saved, God has changed your heart.

Therefore, you cannot as a Christian be Pro-Choice.

You cannot be for killing an unborn, helpless Child and still claim the name of Christ.

II Corinthians 5:17
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Look at actual pictures of abortions. The answer will become clear to you then.

5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,
and before you were born I consecrated you;
I appointed you a prophet to the nations.”

Jesus said the way to heaven is very narrow and few shall enter because they do not believe the truth. Abortion is murder and anyone who supports murder will not go to heaven. Additionally, no one supporting homosexual behavior will go to heaven (1 Cor 6:9)...and if you do not believe in the fundamentals that Jesus Christ taught, you will not go to heaven either...

Matthew 7: 21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them *, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Yes I believe the author had that verse in his article. Funny I don’t think anyone here has gotten past the title.

A pro-abort who becomes a Christian may remain pro-choice for a time. However, I believe if he experienced a true conversion to Christ then the more he learns about what truly orthodox Christianity teaches and has taught for the past 2 millenia concerning this issue and the more he matures in the faith will result in his changing his position to pro-life.

Short answer: no.

A long time ago, while I was attending Cal State working on my Engineering Degree, I was required to take a Public Speaking course. One of the assignments was to make a speech before the class on some current subject. The speaker before me - a bearded man - spoke about the need for abortion.

I tore up the speech I prepared and when it came to my turn, I spoke against abortion, citing the definitions of what was human and what wasn't by the Nazis.

A young woman stood up during my speech and said "are you calling me a Nazi?".

I said "why would I call you a Nazi?".

She said "I've had three abortions".

I said "Then you're a Nazi. Shut up and sit down".

Oddly enough, even though it was a California school, I got an A.

Prize-winning answer. Thanks for saving me the trouble of having to type it myself :-)
