Explosive intervention by Pope Francis set to transform climate change debate
UK Guardian ^ | June 13, 2015 | John Vidal

The most anticipated papal letter for decades will be published in five languages on Thursday. It will call for an end to the ‘tyrannical’ exploitation of nature by mankind. Could it lead to a step-change in the battle against global warming?

Pope Francis will call for an ethical and economic revolution to prevent catastrophic climate change and growing inequality in a letter to the world’s 1.2 billion Catholics on Thursday.

In an unprecedented encyclical on the subject of the environment, the pontiff is expected to argue that humanity’s exploitation of the planet’s resources has crossed the Earth’s natural boundaries, and that the world faces ruin without a revolution in hearts and minds. The much-anticipated message, which will be sent to the world’s 5,000 Catholic bishops, will be published online in five languages on Thursday and is expected to be the most radical statement yet from the outspoken pontiff.

However, it is certain to anger sections of Republican opinion in America by endorsing the warnings of climate scientists and admonishing rich elites, say cardinals and scientists who have advised the Vatican....

My money says he was told to comply or the world would begin taxing Catholic churches ...
Ah, just who is it that has all this power and speaks for "the world?"

Why doesn’t he address that before he claims moral superiority.

Climate issues are a convenient smoke screen for bigger problems within the church. He’s a politician and they all like to fabricate distractions from real issues and avoid having to acknowledge past failures.

OK!! Everybody pay attention!

Lesson for today:

1. The sun is 1,300,000 times as big as the earth.

2. The sun is a ball of fire that controls the climates of all its planets.

3. The earth is one of the sun’s planets.

4. The earth is a speck in comparison to the size of the sun.

5. Inhabitants of the earth are less than specks.

Study Question: How do less-than-specks in congress plan to control the sun?

"climate change and growing inequality"

Climate change is all about wealth distribution. Wealth distribution is all about empowering government over people. Empowering government over people works best if a single (world)government can be connived.

Don’t buy into all that “over-population” mythology.

It is Primitivism and Utopianism that are the heart of modern Liberalism, and most certainly are the roots of the Green movement.

Interesting post!

There are plenty of undeveloped areas in the world where greens could go off and build their doomed utopias, but their hidden motive is actually to destroy rather than build. The greens are green alright: with envy. Envy is an unfortunate side effect of vanity, and vanity often develops as a protective response to the pain of being surrounded for long periods by competitors with more.

Leftism is strongly correlated with population density throughout the world and history. As population density increases, so does the demand for tyrannical big government, which points to causation and not just correlation. Humans living in unnaturally close quarters develop unnaturally high levels of vanity and envy.

In America the tipping point between an area being majority leftist Democrat vs rightist Republican is a population density of 700 people per square mile. Papa Francisco grew up in Buenos Aires which has a shockingly high population density of 37,000. Most people from Buenos Aires are big gov loving socialists, if not full blown communists.

It will call for an end to the ‘tyrannical’ exploitation of nature by mankind.

God blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground." Genesis 1:28

Everything that lives and moves about will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything. Genesis 9:3

The LORD God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. Genesis 2:15

I do not doubt that there are problems in the RCC, but sadly there are problems in the Christian faith community in general.

The Protestant denominations keep the same wrong Sabbath and pagan holidays as the RCC.

Revelation 17

3 Then the angel carried me away in the Spirit into a wilderness. There I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast that was covered with blasphemous names and had seven heads and ten horns.

4 The woman was dressed in purple and scarlet, and was glittering with gold, precious stones and pearls. She held a golden cup in her hand, filled with abominable things and the filth of her adulteries.

5 The name written on her forehead was a mystery:

babylon the great

the mother of prostitutes

and of the abominations of the earth.

6 I saw that the woman was drunk with the blood of God’s holy people, the blood of those who bore testimony to Jesus.

What a hypocrite! The Catholic church’s teachings on birth control have contributed to population pressures on natural resources and the conditions of poverty in which many south American adherents find themselves.

Amen! bears repeating.

Don’t buy into all that “over-population” mythology.
IIRC, you could fit all the people in the world into Texas, and still have room left over.

Liberation Theology 101. Just when the worst ideas become obvious to a majority, the Catholic Church adopts them. Wow.

Maybe it’s time to rethink abortion. I mean with all this resource mismanagement driven by too many people.

Can’t somebody get Catholics to read Julian Simon?

So basically you're saying that the Garden of Eden is a myth?

Good to know.

Galileo to Francis:

You still didn't get the memo?

I wouldn't invoke Galileo if I were you. He had an agenda.

A lot of cheerleading for this -- and for Hitlery's campaign -- has been flowing out of the UK 'news' orgs.
