"I feel like saying something that may sound controversial or even heretical. But there is someone who knows that despite our differences we are one. It is he who is persecuting us. It is he that is persecuting Christians today; he who is anointing us with the blood of martyrdom, knows that Christians are disciples of Christ. That we are one, that we are brothers! He doesn't care if they are Evangelicals, Orthodox, Lutherans, Catholics or Apostolic. He doesn't care! They are Christians."
sucking in breath ...
teacher! teacher!
Many things in life are very apparent!!!!
Got a chapter and verse on that one?
I'm having trouble finding the words *purgatory* and *Catholic* in the Bible.
Well, I never CHOSE to be a Catholic.
So whatever anyone thought they inflicted on me is not binding.
Not to mention that those who are in Christ have died to sin and this world and they are alive in Christ. Since the old man has died, then yes, they can be an EX-Catholic.
Baptism accomplishes what it accomplishes once....you cannot be saved from original sin more than once.
Baptism, for 1,600 years converted you to Catholicism...there was no-one else.
You cannot come along 1,600 years after the fact and decide that you can redetermine what Baptism means....PERIOD
sure it is.....Baptism and circumcision last forever and a lot of people wouldn't have chosen one of them...............
We will just have to disagree. You think you are right, I think I am right. All I can say is, that only one of us is right. Let’s just wait till Gabriel blows his horn to figure it out. I am ok with waiting on Gabriel. Are you?
The first time I was baptized, I might have had a bottle in my mouth, because I was only a few days old. The next time I was baptized, I was in a war zone, and we got a dispensation, so we didn't have to fast. Don't you just love those dispensations? 😂
I guess it matters who decides its valid.
I had no choice in the Roman one.... so it was never valid to me.
Count me in on that.
And count me out of religion.
Roger that. Put me in that category too.
So why is this close to formal heresy if V2 essentially declared the same ecumenical statements? The "may sound controversial or even heretical" can mean to as regards the SSPX/SSPV types who reject the ecumenical confessions (etc.) of V2.
Our course, both modern and historical Rome is heretical .
I didn't even find it in the catholic Bible I used to have. Don't you have a big list of things that are not found in the Bible? And I still don't know who's on first. 😂😆
People who attack Catholicism and the Catholic Church but claim to be Christian are one thing, those who are sincere but who due to a wide variety of circumstances haven't yet come to understand that there is only One True Church are another. You can see this from what Christ Himself says in Luke Chapter 9.
Luke 9:49 And John, answering, said : Master, we saw a certain man casting out devils in thy name, and we forbade him, because he followeth not with us. Luke 9:50 And Jesus said to him : Forbid him not ; for he that is not against you, is for you.
Now wait a minute.
Catholics can say a marriage covenant entered into by two consenting adults can be considered an invalid marriage because later they they decided that somehow they didn't enter it with full knowledge or real understanding and consent, but when baptism is done to a baby, it's binding forever? What baby goes into baptism with full knowledge and consent?
What hypocrisy!
The Catholic church just can't let go can it. It tries to maintain that death grip it claims it has on people's souls forever. Maybe so they can use us to count their 1.2 billion strong of people who aren't even sure they're saved and are going to make it to heaven anyway.
What a religion of control freaks.
I do not belong to the Catholic church any more and their claim that I do doesn't make it so.
There is no mark on my soul that Christ cannot erase. He erased any bondage I was in when He made me a new creature in Christ. I have been set free from the bondage of a works religion.

Your issue is not with me, but Francis. He’s not interested in converting anyone anyway. He’s the one who pushes false unity.
But hey, if it makes you feel better to lash out at me with your heavy dose of sarcasm meanwhile claiming you know best when it comes to presenting “unity”, you go right ahead. I understand why you’d much rather shoot the messenger. You’d probably shoot St. Athanasius for speaking out about the Arians in his midst too.
My issue is the Truth. It is not about bashing anyone. It is about speaking the Truth. Catholic Unity isn’t about defending (or remaining silent about) a pope who spouts heresy. Unity is proclaiming the Truth of the Catholic Faith which Francis doesn’t seem to care about. He’s too busy praying with and praising the false “John 17 Movement”.

How is it out of context? This quote is still true and accurate.
Show me a pre-Vatican II Catholic teaching that says as much. This "fullness of the faith" term didn't come to be until Vatican II started teaching "partial communion".
