"I feel like saying something that may sound controversial or even heretical. But there is someone who knows that despite our differences we are one. It is he who is persecuting us. It is he that is persecuting Christians today; he who is anointing us with the blood of martyrdom, knows that Christians are disciples of Christ. That we are one, that we are brothers! He doesn't care if they are Evangelicals, Orthodox, Lutherans, Catholics or Apostolic. He doesn't care! They are Christians."
However, their position is still an enemy of God until they believe Christ as noted in Rms 5:10.
Trust me there is...
so if you die in defense of Christ, you don't think that He grants you salvation....?????
I think that the scripture passage comes right after the two which mention the Trinity and sola scriptura....

Then show us with chapter and verse where this is taught in the Bible. It must be clear....not some catholic analogy nonsense.
I'll go make some popcorn while you search.
1) Baptism is not necessary for salvation...2) There are many christs ... those that would count on dying for their salvation have a false christ .Just like like the Muslims that believe that martyrdom gets you heaven....We have a savior that died for us...

The trinity is taught in scripture.. the immaculate conception , the assumption, prayers to the dead and purgatory are in the same chapter as baptism by blood and desire
You have already been baptized Catholic so you can never receive another valid Baptism anyway....
Well, according to STA one should have fasted before being baptized for it to be legit.....did you fast before you were baptized??
It is probably MUCH easier to be a "christian" outside of Rome...you get to make up your own version of what Christianity entails, interpret the Bible to suit your own needs....make Bible passages mean what you want them to mean (never mind that old THIS IS MY BODY stuff, we know He didn't really mean it)...confess your sins (whose sins that you shall forgive, they are forgiven)...who needs that stuff...corporal works of mercy.....nah, praying for the deceased....why?, they are dead Oh well, my rules are SO much easier to follow......golf this Sunday morning anyone...???
Yep, it looks to me, like a lot of people, who think they are leading a good life, will rue the day that God says that to Him. I don't plan to be one of those. 😇
This is what I've found.
Pope Eugene IV, Cantate Domino (1441): "The most Holy Roman Church firmly believes, professes and preaches that none of those existing outside the Catholic Church, not only pagans, but also Jews and heretics and schismatics, can have a share in life eternal; but that they will go into the "eternal fire which was prepared for the devil and his angels" (Matthew 25:41), unless before death they are joined with Her; and that so important is the unity of this ecclesiastical body that only those remaining within this unity can profit by the sacraments of the Church unto salvation, and they alone can receive an eternal recompense for their fasts, their almsgivings, their other works of Christian piety and the duties of a Christian soldier. No one, let his almsgiving be as great as it may, no one, even if he pour out his blood for the Name of Christ, can be saved, unless he remain within the bosom and the unity of the Catholic Church."
Pope Eugene IV and the Council of Florence: "The sacrosanct Roman Church...firmly believes, professes, and proclaims that..not only pagans, but also Jews and heretics and schismatics cannot become participants in eternal life but will depart `into everlasting fire...unless before the end of life the same have been added to the flock; and that..no one, whatever almsgiving he has practiced, even if he has shed blood for the name of Christ, can be saved, unless he has remained in the bosom and unity of the Catholic Church. Pope Eugene IV and the Council of Florence (Seventeenth Ecumenical Council), Cantate Domino, Bull promulgated on February 4, 1441 (Florentine style), [considered infallible by some]
That bitterness is coming through again TC. Maybe you should go play golf this Saturday. Sounds like you need some fresh air!
Pouring water on the head or immersion...no difference....and the proper words..."I baptize thee in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit"....that pretty much makes you an instant Catholic...and it doesn't matter who does it nor where it is done.
That easy!!
Count me in on that.
And count me out of religion.
Well, then , find it and post it because as far as I've ever known, the verses RnMom posted were it.
You can't be an ex-boy, nor an ex-girl, nor an ex Catholic...you can be a denier, act as a former, dress the part, pretend, wish you were, demand that you be called, use the wrong rest-room, have society recognize you as......but you can NEVER be an EX.
LOL, obviously, I disagree. By the way Rn mom, I agree with you, there ARE ex Catholics in the world. I don't think you are the only one. 😎
That’s what I’ve always said.
Christians and non-Christians can be found in all denominations. The only way they differ is in percentages per church. Some have more believers and some have fewer.

Actually, there is a difference. The Greek word for baptize indicates one goes under the water.....not just sprinkled. Man, ya'll can't even get the basics right.
So you're disagreeing with STA that you have to fast before baptism....he's advancing that position by quoting the didache.
And concerning baptism, baptize this way: Having first said all these things, baptize into the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, in living water. But if you have no living water, baptize into other water; and if you cannot do so in cold water, do so in warm. But if you have neither, pour out water three times upon the head into the name of Father and Son and Holy Spirit. But before the baptism let the baptizer fast, and the baptized, and whoever else can; but you shall order the baptized to fast one or two days before (Didache).
Hey lookie here....catholics with their own interpretation of the didache! LOL!!!!
We don't know if TC or STA was properly baptized based on this.....or any catholic for that matter.
For kicks...let's ask our catholic posters......did you fast one or two days before baptism? If not, you do not appear to have been properly baptized based on what STA is advancing.
This would be part of your tradition so if you haven't done this you're not following tradition.....and we all know how important your tradition is.
What say you catholics??
You know, piusv is one of the few RC’s that I really respect.
I know what he thinks about where I am spiritually, and yet I respect him that he holds to what he believes is true, and backs it up with cogent arguments.
He avoids making it personal with name calling and throwing slurs of *hater*, *bigot*, and *anti* around.
Oh good grief, I am bitter at no one nor have I EVER been...but it is frustrating for the Catholics on this site to show people the way and have them seem completely oblivious to the truth.....I am sad for them, not bitter at them.
