Excerpted:
What Catholic mysticism does is reject the Bible as the sole and sufficient and perfect revelation of God and tries to delve beyond the Bible, even beyond thought of any kind, and find God through mystical intuition. In other words, it is a rejection of the God of the Bible. It says that God cannot be known by doctrine and cannot be described in words. He can only be experienced through mysticism. This is a blatant denial of the Bibles claim to be the very Word of God.
This opens the practitioner to demonic delusion. He is left with no perfect objective revelation of God, no divinely-revealed authority by which he can test his mystical experiences and intuitions. He is left with an idol of his own vain imagination (Jeremiah 17:9) and a doctrine of devils.

She (Sue Monk Kidd) determined that she was willing to lose her marriage, if necessary.
"I would not, could not forfeit my journey for my marriage or for the sake of religious acceptance or success as a Christian writer. I would keep moving in my own way to the strains of feminine music that sifted up inside me, not just moving but embracing the dance. ... I felt the crumbling of the old patriarchal foundation our marriage had rested upon in such hidden and subtle ways. Though both of us would always need to compromise, there was no more sacrificing myself, no more revolving around him, no more looking to him for validation, trying to be what I thought he needed me to be. My life, my time, my decisions became newly my own" (pp. 98, 125).

Who is Jesus? C’mon, tell me. Then try to tell me “mother of God” is inappropriate.
Have you ever heard of the hypostatic union?
How many natures does Jesus have? How many wills?
Is Jesus God or man? If he is both, what does that mean, and when did it happen?
Got answers to any of this? For all your yelping about Jesus, do you even know him? Have you any Christology at all?
I thought it was more like only Catholics had the potential to be saved, but they had to wait until they died to find out if they led a good enough life to earn Heaven.
You two make a good pair, Abbott & Costello, Hope & Crosby, etc.
Galena was the home of U. S. Grant, and the inscription was on a monument there. Seen it.
Blah blah blah...
mother of God is NOT found in Scripture.
It’s kinda like the Blind Men inspecting the elephant...
You act as if Scripture were the pillar and foundation of the truth.
Sure.
Because saying *mother of God* denies His humanity. Jesus' divinity did not begin with His birth.
I'll stick with agreeing with the Holy Spirit in what He inspired in Scripture: *Mary, the mother of Jesus*.
That way, I KNOW I can't be wrong.
The Holy Spirit is clear in Scripture in calling Mary *the mother of Jesus*.
John 2:1 On the third day there was a wedding at Cana in Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there.
John 2:3 When the wine ran out, the mother of Jesus said to him, They have no wine.
Acts 1:14 All these with one accord were devoting themselves to prayer, together with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and his brothers.
You are correct because I knew I wasn’t being good enough or was good enough. The best I was hoping for was a very extended stay in purgatory.
What I was really expecting was hell. And that was when I was a young teenager, before I even got into the more serious sins.
Explain what you mean by humanity when you refer to Jesus. Are you saying that Jesus is a human being?
Rome acts as though it is inadequate to get men saved.
Is it?
Word games: Part II
What I was really expecting was hell. And that was when I was a young teenager, before I even got into the more serious sins.
Yes, early on, I knew I was not a good enough catholic to go to Heaven. I was also hoping for an extended stay in purgatory. Deep in my heart, however, I knew I could not be a good enough catholic to go to Heaven. It seemed like I was committing mortal sins every 2 minutes and I was powerless to stop it. 😱 I was about 14, when I decided to dump the Catholic Church, simply because I knew I couldn't do it. During the next 7 years, I felt like an Israelite wandering in the desert. Eventually, God rescued me. Praise God for that. 😇 Anyway, ain't life grand?
You two make a good pair, Abbott & Costello, Hope & Crosby, etc.
Yes, MM is Costello, 😂 and all I EVER wanted to know, is who's on first, what's on second, and I don't know's on third.
Making it personal is against Forum rules.
But, rules matter little to most of the Roman Catholic cultists. After all, they consider themselves as so special that only they can make it to heaven, if they wait long enough in purgatory and have enough candles bought and lit for them.
Mary had a womb. It carried the Son of God. But in the end, He arose from the tomb, and she has not been mentioned since the room full of Spirit filled people...! But, she was just a womb with a view!
So what make you of the 2John letter written to Mary?
I see a letter to a woman, that is perceived to be Mary, because it is addressed to the "woman chosen by God". But, who is the sister in verse 13, also "chosen by God"?
Either way, the woman in the beginnings has lots of children, her literal children, not nieces and nephews. But, it is in verse 3 that I see the most significant words. "3 Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and from Jesus Christ, the Fathers Son, will be with us in truth and love. There is NO reference to a motherhood of Jesus, only the Fatherhood of God!
It does more to negate the Mariology and subsequent idolization of her by the Roman Catholic cult. They never have made any solid Scriptural references to justify their cultic behavior.
Oh yeah, another thought I almost forgot. There is an admonition to the woman to "8 Watch out that you do not lose what we have worked for, but that you may be rewarded fully.
That seems also to destroy the idea of an allegedly sinless mary they continually hype!
But it also could show them WORKING for their salvation.
