POPE ALLEGEDLY HALTS PUBLICATION OF ECO-ENCYCLICAL AMID CONTROVERSY
Breitbart ^ | May 15, 2015 | THOMAS D. WILLIAMS, PH.D.

A Vatican insider asserts that Pope Francis has scrapped the draft of his encyclical letter on the environment and sent it back for major revision. The letter was slated for publication in early summer, but now may not be ready until much later, he suggests.

Citing sources within the Santa Marta residence where the Pope lives, veteran Vatican journalist Sandro Magister has written that “Francis has scrubbed the draft” of the text presented to him by Argentinian Archbishop Víctor Manuel Fernández, perhaps foreseeing that Cardinal Gerhard Müller of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith “would have demolished it” once it was presented to him for approval.

Though Magister has not always gotten it right, he has broken a good number of important stories over the years, including Pope Francis’ decision to remove Cardinal Raymond Burke from his post as head of the Vatican’s highest court.

Magister asserts that Fernández, who is the rector of the Universidad Católica Argentina in Buenos Aires, is the Pope’s number one ghostwriter, having begun writing for the Pope when he was still archbishop of Buenos Aires. The journalist claims that Fernández was responsible for drafting the 2013 “apostolic exhortation” Evangelii Gaudium and was subsequently assigned the task of composing the new letter on the environment in March 2014.

One Vatican official told Breitbart News that he had heard nothing of plans to table the papal encyclical and would be very surprised to see anything of the sort at this late date. Recently, Vatican spokesman Father Federico Lombardi tried to quash what he called “rumors and fantasies” about delays of the encyclical, saying that such speculation was “totally unfounded” and that it “seems almost unbelievable that such things are written.”

He should stay out of completely.
Like the article states, he’ll be teetering in on population control, too.

It would be nice if Pope Francis stuck to theology, instead of something he knows nothing about.

The progressive movement is all around us.. It never stops coming at you. You’d think the top religious guy would be a respite from it all... But no.

It must be extremely difficult for the Pope’s inner circle to criticize him, but I’ll bet he’s had scores of anonymous notes of discontent sent his way..

“Is the Pope Catholic?” What a question!

The Pope is a Jesuit. For Jesuits today the Catholic church is an implement for the advancement of the Marxist dialectic. Pope Francis's theology encompases a good many things not normally contained in Catholic doctrine, from collectivization to sodomy. If he feels that supporting the "Green Movement" will advance the dialectic he will do so.

Unfortunately for His Holiness there are a lot of Catholics who have not yet come to accept his enlightened views - and some of us have stopped attending Mass regularly. There are also countervailing voices in the hierarchy of the church. As a result He sometimes has to guard His words which He no doubt finds galling.

I’ll bet it called for massive transfers of money from the USA and other “wealthy” countries to “poor” countries.

Is this covered by papal infallibility?

he may compromise papal authority by canonizing scientific theories and political programs based on projections and computer-generated models

I don't think a pope can "canonize" theories and programs outside of the field of faith and morals even if he tries. However, the embrace of the UN agenda by Rome is indeed weakening the teaching authority of the Church in our generation.

If His Holiness indeed scrapped the encyclical it is probably a very good thing.

No, nothing of the sort would even come close to an infallible teaching. The concern is that forays into climate politics would add to the noise in the political realm, not that it will produce a lasting change in the Church.

To make an infallible pronouncement, among other things, a pope must be in union with all the bishops in his infallible pronouncement. What he says outside that stricture is his human opinion which is as good as the next man’s. I suspect Francis is finding out something new to him, that not everybody agrees with him. An environmental encyclical would not be “infallible” in any event but Pope Francis would find himself diminished considerably if his bishops were to dissent and back up their dissent with well reasoned theology and many would do just that. Francis will backpedal a lot.

“I get the feeling he knows quite a bit about communism.”

Oh no doubt, along with homosexuality and now the environment.

“Their final statement made a series of dramatic proclamations on the environment, declaring that “human-induced climate change is a scientific reality” and that “its decisive mitigation is a moral and religious imperative for humanity.”

Well I guess the Catholic Church is all in for communism
and it’s own demise. Wonder whats going to take it’s place.
Instead of the Roman Catholic Church it will become the
UNITED NATIONS FIRST EARTH CATHOLIC CHURCH.

This terrorist-enabling demon needs to be stopped by his fellow Cardinals, before he wrecks the Church. Is there no impeachment process?

"...some of us have stopped attending Mass regularly."

Please, don't! Look at my homepage. I went through something similar with the "Spirit of Vatican II" teachings promulgated by people, which were actually contrary to the true documents. It was the worst time for me! If ever there is a time when we need to stick closer to the Sacraments, it's now! Especially in the Eucharist, with Adoration. Please, don't let this shake your faith in the Sacraments and all the Church has to offer in love and Mercy that is beyond human comprehension-and controversy! God bless you, keep you, and guide you!
