He said you will always have the poor among you.
His message was about the Kingdom of God.
The word is being slowly put out, even by the Leftists themselves: the push is on to silence any conservative, Christian, or patriot, and they have the resources of a nation-state at their disposal.
This Pope isn’t doing anything more to fight poverty than the Popes before him. He just talks a lot more.

Its hard to find truly poor people in America. The “poor” in America are well fed. By world standards they are quite well off.
many times i find, once i get to know them a little better, the “poor” are as ibama said, “sponges, leeches, don’t want to work, are lazy, are seemingly undeserving”
They have large screen tvs with cable service. They have working cars. They could work full time but do not apply themselves. Some are getting disability while doing physical labor and getting paid cash under the table.
