Are you guys that big into interpreting each others posts? Do you know what happens when twenty people successively interpret the the original’s “story”?
That’s why y’all have so many different bibles.
I never knew one little post would upset some people so much. Doesn’t everyone read the Bible? If not, why not? Christians understand what another Chritian says. It is really not that hard. Understanding the Bible is not that hard, either. Poor Catholics! If y’all read it more, y’all would understand it better. I have had wonderful ministers over my 71 years and they made it clear they believed the Bible 100%. I think some are very unhappy people on here. Thanks go to everyone who knew exactly what I meant. God bless y’all.
And you all expect us to accept word of mouth or *sacred tradition* which has been passed down for TWO THOUSAND YEARS, on equal footing with transcribed Scripture?
Guess again.....
If you all don't accept it passed down through 20, don't tell us with a straight face that it can pass down over that many years without corruption.
Thats why yall have so many different bibles.
Is THIS what YOUR church taught you?
From the Translators to the Reader, KJV original preface.
“Now to the latter we answer, that we do not deny, no, we affirm and declare openly, that the most faulty translation of the Bible in English set forth by men of our profession (for we have seen none of theirs of the whole Bible as yet) contains the Word of God, no, it is the Word of God.
Just as the Kings speech which he uttered in Parliament, being translated into French, Dutch, Italian, and Latin, is still the Kings speech, even though it is not interpreted by every translator with the same dignity, nor perhaps so fitly for phrase, nor so exactly for sense, everywhere....”
