Therefore the "Keys" were not given to the disciples in general Well I have already provided Scripture showing Twelve gates for each of the Apostles (with their names on them) for each of them to open and close. The keys were given upon the confession that Jesus was the one true Messiah. All twelve qualified (excepting Judas Iscariot of course) for this honor. I know that you really really want Peter to be some Super Apostle that is superior to the others but that is not the case. You can accept plain Scripture or accept Catholic teachings, your choice.

Let me offer up my theory on the "keys to the kingdom of Heaven" I do not believe it is supposed to be so difficult to understand. As far as I am concerned, I think the "keys" is, quite simply, the Gospel. No man has ANY power whatsoever, to "open or close" Heaven. By presenting the Gospel of Jesus Christ, as in simple child like faith in Jesus, THAT is the "keys" to the kingdom of Heaven. Faith in Christ opens Heaven to the human race. 🇵🇭😇 Peter, and all of us, can present the "keys" to Heaven, by preaching the gospel. 😎
