race Each time the word ROCK is used in the Bible in reference to any providing of the people, it is used as God being the one provided. -- sorry, not quite race, and taking your own examples:

• Exo17:6 - to be specific, the Rock is not God, the living water that comes forth from it is the living Water -- similar to the statement of Christ that Petros is a Rock for the Church to be set upon. The Rock does not create the water or do anything but provide a way for it to come forth. Similarly Peter was the Rock upon which God placed His Church
  
• John 7:38 - here again you bring up something that proves more proof for Peter as the Rock even though :) this has no mention of rock. The living Word comes not from Peter, but he is a foundation stone upon which the Church is built
  
  
• Deuteronomy --Yes, this is a mention in the old testament of the Rock as an allegory for God, however that is not true in the NT reference
  
• Samuel - good point, again, this is for that context, but quite different from the Exodus example where the "rock" isn't God but a conduit
  
  
• you mistake Petros and Petra -- this was originally in Aramaic, remember, not Greek -- so it was ‘You are Kepha, and on thiskepha I will build my Church.’. Translating that to Greek you have to add in declinations (you understand declinations, right?) which is why you have in French Et moi, je te déclare: Tu es Pierre, et sur cette pierre j'édifierai mon Eglise, contre laquelle la mort elle-même ne pourra rien."
  
  While in Polish it is " Ty jesteś Piotr – skała – i na tej skale zbuduję mój Kościół" --> Polish, like Greek has declinations, so something in nominative has a different ending when in locative

The Holy Spirit inspired it to be written in Greek. The Holy Spirit made the distinction of Petros and Petra and we can be sure He knew what He was doing.

Ephesians 2:20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;

No singular Peter there.
