Often those least familiar with prayer are those who misunderstand and misrepresent Catholic prayer.

WHO...besides FRoman Catholics have been discussing "Catholic prayer". We're talking about prayer to God. Where you been.

Please do not get cute or Clintonesque with me. The criticism in the discussion was specifically directed at prayer practices that are exclusively Catholic.

Actually our new FRiend Eucharista is quite correct.

It all goes back to Mrs. Don-o’s post 287. Just because when Catholics ask for intercessory prayer from the Saints it takes the form of prayer, doesn’t mean it’s any different than if I were to ask you, or any other Christian to pray for me.

The prayers to the Saints are simply requests for them to intercede on our behalf, no less “un-Scriptual” than asking someone on Earth to pray for us.

And it’s certainly not “un-Scriptual” to venerate those who are worthy of honor, as I have demonstrated.

But you apparently subscribe to the idea of “soul sleep” so I guess this point is moot to you.
