Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

In modern times, the Internet makes it easy for the authorities to identify threats to the leader of a country. Most of the time it is just satire, but in some cases, the consequences have been dire. Rodeo clowns, cook-show hosts, and facebook posters have suffered humiliation, unemployment, and marginalization because of something they said!

In this ancient narrative, we see something similar about to take place, only the murmurers are about to pay with their lives. Samuel and Saul, both filled with victory and God's Wisdom, urge their followers to show mercy to these people. It is an interesting contrast to today's events.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

The members of the oldest of our Christian Communities, some of which date from the days of the Apostles, suffer under cruel, merciless and unrelenting persecution. They are Orthodox and Catholic, Protestant and Evangelical, Coptic, Pentecostal, and Baptist. To the persecutors, we are all "Nazarenes."
