What’s this about “Missionaries of Mercy”...? Pardoning sins formerly reserved to the Pope?

Are we selling indulgences again?

There’s no mercy for those who don’t show mercy.

“Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.

- Galatians 6:7-9

Are we selling indulgences again?

No, we're apparently entering Vatican II Electric Boogaloo.

I saw water flowing from the right side of the temple, alleluia; and all they to whom that water came were saved, and they shall say, alleluia, alleluia.

Praise the Lord, for He is good; for His mercy endureth forever.

May the balm of mercy reach everyone...

Do you know anyone else who talks like this? I don't. Jesus Christ never did.

Pope Francis also chose today, the feast of the Divine Mercy of Jesus to proclaim this special holy year.

We all have someone who has hurt us. We can forgive them. What’s wrong with that?

I’m with Pope Francis. I think mercy is marvelous.

I read somewhere else that these are priests who will be allowed to absolve these confessed sins.

Here is Rorate Caeli’s take on the Bull and the so-called Missionaries of Mercy:

The Bull of Indiction (#18) mentions "Missionaries of Mercy" who will be sent out to the world and who will have the "authority to pardon even those sins reserved to the Holy See."

Cool! Now we'll have a bunch of mini-popes.
