NBCs Meet the Press moderator Chuck Todd discussed how Ted Cruz could have a shot at the nomination by riding the evangelical vote to victory in a YouTube video released Friday.
Todd pointed out that in the past candidates can get relevancy from the evangelical vote, but no one has been able to use it to win the nomination. But that Cruz, if he can clinch the evangelical vote, might be able to change that because this primary calendar, believe it or not, is actually in the advantage of evangelical candidates.
Todd stated that two of the first four primary states, Iowa and South Carolina, have primary electorates that are majority evangelical. He continued that many Deep South states with majority evangelical electorates are thinking of having their primaries on Super Tuesday....

Nope. He's appealing to libertarians as well.
As they say, politics makes strange bedfellows.
I would think he has the evangelical vote locked up already, unless troublemakers like Huckleberry or SaintOrum get in the race.
It would be Huge if he could inspire evangelicals to the polls again.
I realize it won’t be a popular opinion on FR, but Cruz has never to no shot at the top of the ticket. Hillary would skewer him and the press won’t give him a chance.
I think he could be a very good Vice President however.
I’m not a big fan of Todd, but I give him credit here for somewhat bucking MSM conventional wisdom.
Add me please!
Time will tell. At this point in his senate run he was at 3%.
Go back to bed, the adults are growing impatient.
Who do you put at the top of the ticket?
He is making some special connections with people of faith, whose freedoms and liberties are being encroached on by the lifestyle choice diversity crowd.
Cruz scares the **** out of Hillary.
Surely, you jest.
Hillary? Skewer him?
Chuckles...
It is not popular because it is an idiotic opinion. Romney was supposed to win all the votes of independents and democrats and sail off to victory.
The Uniparty is running hundreds of scenarios - no doubt with Nate Silver’s modeling help - and coming up with WAY too many ‘Cruz WINS’ results. We’re starting to see their phase of denial, moving to bargaining, acceptance, etc.
Hillary skewer Cruz? You have to be kidding. Cruz will mop the floor with Hillary, she is absolutely no competition for him in terms of debating and polical skills.
..... Hillary would skewer him and the press wont give him a chance.
No Way! He'll "mop The Floor" with sHillary.
She wouldn't have a chance with him in a debate.
I agree wholeheartedly. But I also recall thinking the same thing about a certain junior senator from Illinois in 2007. Shows what I know.
Has or is Ted or any member of his immediate family a member of the Trilateral Commission?
