“How can sinners obtain salvation if they pretend to be repentant but continue in their sins with no resolve to “sin no more”?”

Now wait a minute. I have been a Catholic all of my life.

I confess the same sins over and over again. I would say that I have gotten better on, but many; not so much... It’s pretty tough to do every thing right.

I would bet that your sins are pretty much the same as mine (unless your an axe murderer). And in spite of the “sin no more” clause, it continues.

The good part is that I recognize it immediately and back off...

I confess the same sins over and over again.

But each time you confess, do you not firmly resolve to sin no more?

How can a divorced and remarried adulterer remain in an adulterous relationship with no resolve to end it, yet be given Holy Communion while in a state of unrepentant mortal sin?
