Torah observant Jews believe in both a oral and written Torah; praying for the dead is an ancient custom, as I have posted. To write it is not observed by Jews or Israelites who follow Torah is false. It is commonly observed by Jews and Israelites who follow Torah, ie., Orthodox Jews.
Show me in Torah where prayers for the dead are offered?
If I could, would you offer prayers for the dead ?
150 psalms recorded and not one plea for the dead.
Are you positive ?
This is a dead issue.
Well, it is about the dead so this is true.
There have not been true Torah observant Israelites since the era of Ezra. Jesus preached from Torah and not the traditions of men. He made every opportunity to condemn the Pharisees of their man-made traditions.
Again, what prophet, psalmist, king in the OT provides us the doctrine for praying for the departed?
