Christ on the Cross isn’t the end from which there is no more to be done, it is the beginning from which all else is possible. It is more than paying the price for sinners, it is restoring lost family members to the Holy Family of God.

Rom 3:25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

Jhn 19:28 After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst

.Jhn 19:30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.

Was anyone saved at the cross??

Yes. Those who had been baptized in the Name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Who have been saved since? The same.

The Cross is promise, not the end of salvation history. It is the completion of the New Covenant but not the end of the story. What remains is the Great Commission to bring the Gospel to the whole world through preaching, teaching and baptizing.

When the Catholic Church put scripture in second place to their tradition they put their followers in a rather untenable position when discussing scripture didn’t they.
