I posted - “... youve posted many condescending comments on this thread.”
You posted - “Example?”
You posted at post #7 of THIS THREAD!
Protest-ants... you are well named. This board is becoming a 24 hour protest against the Church. It’s tedious, your arguments are infantile and nothing is accomplished besides setting conservatives against each other. Besides that... good job!
Is this not condescending? I find your comments condescending and infantile.
May God bless you.
It could be read that way and for that I apologize. I was frustrated at yet another thread on this board that takes direct aim at the Catholic Church by "fellow" Christians. If you look down the list of posts by Catholics on this board, you will find mostly posts of faith, devotions and explanations of the tenets of faith. VERY rarely will you find a direct polemic that takes direct aim at specific congregations... and certainly not with such derogatory language suggesting the domination is full of evil. Recently, there is a daily thread (or even more often) that does just that with the Catholic faith. It isn't a stretch to say that FR is feeling very anti-Catholic these days and that is sad because we are all supposedly on the same team (in conservatism and Christianity).
Your example is a good one and I repent of my snark.
You are wasting our time.
So say men who claim it means all manner of different things. Why should your claim carry any more weight than another man's?
If that were true, your posts would be devoid of anything other than Holy Scripture and we wouldn't be having this discussion.
and he posts!
Show me in Torah where prayers for the dead are offered?
150 psalms recorded and not one plea for the dead.
This is a dead issue.
Sure as I stated earlier those prayers are man-made traditions. You won't find them anywhere in the Torah. You won't find praying for the dead from the prophets. 150 psalms recorded and not one plea for souls in Sheol. None at all.
Jesus rebuked the Pharisees for their man made traditions. We should as well to modern day Pharisees.
Praying for the dead is a dead issue.
As a former Catholic myself, I concur.
Catholics claim that the church teaches salvation by grace alone, but that is not either historically or in practice what they teach.
They claim it’s grace and then make that grace conditional upon behavior and works.
It’s not grace any more then.
What a beautiful example of what the author is talking about.
You don't know what adoption is? How sad.......
Romans 8:14-15 For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, Abba! Father!
Your failure to recognize the truth is not my responsibility.
The ones who follow the Torah rather than the man made traditions of the Pharisees. God never sanctioned praying for the dead.
“The sages decreed”! Better take a look at what Jesus thought of the man made laws that had been added to the Torah.
Who was saved at the cross..anyone???anyone??
If you don’t like rebuttal then don’t post a false premise. And I’m not swayed by Alinsky tactics calling someone a bigot.
All of them ey? Do you always read into things not there? Besides, the office of "priest" in the New Testament ekklesia is non existent other than the priesthood of all believers and Jesus as the High Priest. The Catholic priests don't even qualify for any type of leadership in the New Testament ekklesia.
Christ only opened the door as far as Catholics are concerned right? Man has to work to merit the rest?
Still praying for you.
