Unfortunately, non-Catholics don’t seem to have clue between individual utterances of prelates ad Popes and Catholic Dogma. The Catechism still stands.
I would put more trust in God's Word that the catechism, synods, cannon law, Lumen gentium, and all the rest.
Stick with the God. He never changes.
