Britain seems to have a history of throwing street preachers into jail. John Bunyan was thrown into jail for preaching. The world ended up with the classic PILGRIM’S PROGRESS as a result.
William Tyndale, translator of one of the first English protestant Bibles (preceding the KJV by about 100 years), was hanged and his body burned for speaking out against King Henry VIII’s sinful ways.
